Yes.. Do keep me posted. That is good news for you on temps, and should also allow for the max benefit from the voltage adjustment tool.

Don't be shy on putting a picture up.

It's ugly right now. I have to paint my case, and all this is scattered accross a table. I'm kinda stuck because lately it's either been too windy or too cold to paint.

Here is a pic though. It will not be such a mess when I get it all into the Ascension. It is good for benching though, and is easy to get to stuff. Asthetics though are not up to my standards at all.

There is also a Ultra Kaze 3000 blowing on the card that is not shown in the pic. It's sitting just below the mobo blowing right at the card and SB. I also have another blowing on the NB.

I know it looks like a real mess right now, but it won't when I can get that case painted and start mounting everything.

    Thank you

I had to put the shaders down to 1620 after EUE'ing 2 GPU2 work units (seems folding 48 hours straight is tougher than Furmark on the shaders), but I'm going to see if I can get that core a teeny bit higher.

    Before EVGA Voltage Tuner...
    Talonman ------------- Q6600@ 3.82GHz ----- 280 756/1512/1350 ----- P15,911
    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=742410

I had to set the Tuner to 1225 or 1.23v in Riva Tuner, for my Shaders to successfully run at 1566. They had never run that fast before on my card error free.

    After EVGA Voltage Tuner...
    Talonman ------------- Q6600@ 3.84GHz ----- 280 756/1566/1350 ----- P16,170
    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=773418

    Now in the 16K Club!

My Core still won't run at 771 or 774, even after setting the Voltage Tuner as high as 1288, or 1.29v in Riva Tuner. I don't know if extra volts is tha answer for more core speed, or if this is a card limitation. I opted to stop for now, but love that my Shaders did indeed see a bump in speed.

That puts me 3,904 Vantage points, over my initial air cooled P12,266 score, with 280 at stock speed and old driver. Not bad...

Temps are still fine at the new voltage...

I decided to go for some higher speeds:
    Core: 771.43
    Shader: 1620
    Memory: 2350
    Core temp: 48C
    Ambient: 37C
    Room: 76F aprox
    Coolant: 85F aprox max

You will notice that my fps is lower that the previous time, this is because I selected the extreme burn mode thing when I did this one so that it would be even harder than my last results. All other settings were kept the same.

Just read over some of the posts I missed, I will half to play with this voltage thing in the future...

No joke. That core clock is flat sick.

I'm surprised yo haven't pushed the mem more. Mine is a pretty crappy mem clocker and it gets to 2448.

Oh I have pushed higher than those with no voltage oc's but I just do not have the time needed for extensive testing. If I could keep my room temp at 70F I think I could do 800 for 1000 seconds with no crashes. I think I would need at least some voltage ocing to do that though. I will half to look into how to oc the voltage so that I can see just how high the chip can go. I have pushed the memory over 1380 just as a note.. Also I would like to add that in use I keep my clocks more around 700 1250 because I do not have any games that get low fps, when I do get intense games in the future it is good to know that I do have the overhead.

I'm gonna work on mine some more tonight. I'm at 730/1566/1250 and it's good enough for folding and gaming so....we're gonna bump it up some more. It's time to wring it out and let it be all it can be.

Do you need an EVGA card to use the voltage tuner?

can any of you tell me your VRM temps under full load (where everything is stabilized)? Mine hit as high as 100°C if I go over 756/1512/1224, or put more volts in them. I'm using dtek gfx2 and unisink. Not sure if something is seated incorrectly or it just is what is it. Also mention if you got any airflow over the VRM area.

Highest recorded to date on my VRM's via GPU-Z was 64C on one VRM. The rest run between 54-59C. I haven't logged peaks in benches, but don't think they pick up 40C.

I do have a Ultra Kaze 3000 running at 2000 rpm blowing directly at the face of the card and it is sitting exactly 4 inches from the closest edge of the fans shroud to the bottom of the pins on the Unisink.

I am running a GFX2 and pin style Unisink (new style).

Temps reported by CPU-Z right now are:

    GPU: 33
    PCB: 28
    VDDC Current: 12.1
    VDDC Slave #1: 33
    VDDC Slave #2: 35
    VDDC Slave #3: 36
    VDDC Slave #4: 35
VDDC Slave #5: 35 all idle

    VDDC V: 1.1875v

VDDC Loaded for 5 minutes with GPU2 Client Folding:

    GPU: 37
    PCB: 29
    VDDC Current: 54.4 A
    VDDC Slave #1: 50
    VDDC Slave #2: 54
    VDDC Slave #3: 58
    VDDC Slave #4: 53
VDDC Slave #5: 51 all load

EVGA GTX280 SSC at the clocks in my sig, no soft mods, no volt mods.

It's pretty complicated. There is a thread in the news section on it though. EVGA has a voltage tuner now so if you have an EVGA Card no need to go through all that with RT.

Oh, I guess I will wait until someone makes a gui mod for rivia that can do what the xfx program already does...

They did. It's in that thread in the news section. I am PM'ing a guy though that said when he patched the program that it didn't work for him, but haven't heard back from him yet. Those two threads in the news section are in the EVGA Voltage Tuner thread, and the other one...you'll see it.

I'm using an EVGA and the Voltage Tuner Works, although I haven't tried it yet, because I'm still maximizing my clocks on stock volts. It takes me awhile because I do alot of testing and do it little by little at night. I like to do alot of testing, and raise things slowly bit by bit so it doesn't hurt the hardware.

I'm gonna be loving it if I can get shaders into the 1600's though. This card is a good one. Heck if it doesn't get any higher than it is now it's already excellent. Shaders in the 1600's would be Solid Gold though.

Thanks, I am going to start on a good base and slowly work my way up. Instead of trying to see how high I can get it to run without crashing in furmark I am instead going to see how high I can get it and improve my 3D06 score. Here is my first run, it is going to be a really long road a head as I am going to be doing small increments like you to really fine tune the thing and see just how much power this thing can deliver

OK Guys, I have an excetional card here. I almost am hesitant to post this because I'm worried you guys may not believe me...I'm gonna warn you now that what I'm about to post is pretty unbelievable, and I cannot believe it myself, but it is real.

I currently have my GTX280 SSC at 750/1625/1250 set on the sliders, and it is folding a GPU2 511 point WU and has not EUE'd thus far. It continues to complete steps. I thought for sure that would EUE, but it didn't. I even fired up Furmark and ran a bench in Furmark at the same time and the VRM's only reached 74C!

I do have one issue though... in EVGA Precision it's only showing 1620 on the shaders and 756 on the GPU... I can set the sliders higher and apply, but it still only shows 1620.

This card really is something special. I have not bumped any voltage at all yet. I'm absolutely stunned.

I'll let you guys know when this WU completes, and then I'm gonna go in and run 3DM06. I cannot run Vantage because I don't have the monitor for it.

Edited: OK, a 5750 completed successfully. Just unbelieveable. This is just incredible. I'll try 3DM in a few minutes.

That's cause the shaders only go up by mulitples of 54. to get higher then 1620, you need to go to 1674

Also, on the VRM temps, you should just forget folding on them to get max temps. Furmark loads the cards so much more, and if you run more then the standard 60,000ms (1 minute), then they will probably keep climbing more and might actually stabilize after a certain time. Furmark resolution makes a difference too.

Looks pretty good I haven't had an EUE yet at 1620 either. It's a pretty sick folding machine at that clock, too. Mine couldn't take the next step more than 20 hours (1674), but would do games at that speed.

Are your mem clocks showing up as stepped in Precision as well? If not, I might tweak a bit more. 1224 is nice, but...

The clocks are "stepped like G80

Here's a pic of the discovered steps:

OK, I did a 3DM06 run and got some slight flashing and artifacting. No tearing or anything bad. Just some quick flashes...kinda liooked like lightning in the Canyon Flight Run, and one smal black spot for a split second. I may have to back down a hair on the GPU.

Damn I hope those shaders hold. This card is amazing!

Don't you need vista to run vantage?

I believe you do. What's keeping me from it is the default res. I can't run that res.

Ah, what is keeping it from me is vista... how is your score on default settings in 06 though I am interested in comparing a similar setup.

In fact it would be really interesting if you set your card to 702 1512 1269 because we have the same cpu at the same clock and the result should thus show how big of a difference ram/m/b makes!
