I actually found running too high VTT (FSB Termination Voltage) caused instability. I also found running the ram on a 5:6 (multiply FSB speed by 1.2) divider really helped with lower PL (thanks to XS). I also had great results running CPU GTL at x.63 and NB GTL at x.67.

I followed the advice here and CLR CMOS and started over with my OC. So I set the voltages, FSB, RAM timings only, and GTL while leaving everything else on auto, then went from there. It helped me lower my NB considerably for the same FSB OC.

Nice to hear those good news about this 0802 BIOS.
But is someone so kind to send me the modded 0802 (with updated v8.5.1030 Intel RAID module, eventually also with updated JMicron368 module)?

PS: I didn't test yet 0802 BIOS, but being a BETA I would like to flash it with those updates included. I will post it soon and let you all know how it performs when got the file.
PS2: I have in raid0 2 WD750AYYS RE2 HDDs. This 8.5.1030 module BIOS will recognize the array or do I need to rebuild?

    Thanks in advance...

yeh sure, http://rapidshare.com/files/195271613/C0802.ROM (updated IMSM, jmicron and asus slic added)

also you dont need to rebuild anything, but keep in mind i have no idea how usefull this is anyway (except asus slic ). But since i didnt notice any problems with updated modules, ill keep updating them until something breaks

    Lightbulb Infos

You're so kind & quick, thank you.
Now I'm going to flash it and will post some news soon....

    -= LE =-
I've done some testing with the modded C0802.ROM file.
    The good news:
    - The updated IMSM is awesome, it detects HDDs much faster now (all BIOSes until now are kinda detecting my HDDs twice, once before IMSM ROM initializes and again when its enumerating the RAID volumes. I know this because HDDs make some "clicks" when they're detected, and now, with 8.5.1030 version it does only the first one, thus shortening boot time with 1,5 seconds)
    - Vista updated something when booted (I think I know what)
    And unfortunately some bad news:
    - If I do a "Load Defaults" from within BIOS, Save&Exit -> PC would not boot at all (LCD remains with BL on and still says EN SETUP); Fix: ONLY by doing CLR CMOS, then enter BIOS and setup-it with manual settings. Also I've tested again loading defaults, this time saving an OC profile first but with same result. Cleared CMOS, loaded OC profile and all was OK.
    - My USB stick is not detected when entering BIOS and initiate either a EZ-Flash or launching OC Profile, thus I'm unable to save my CMOS settings to stick. What interferes with USB and this BIOS is beyond me, but certainly the unmodded 0802 doesn't do that.

For this reason I want to ask you if you're so kind again and have some time to mod 0802 ONLY with updated IMSM so that I can test again to see if that fixes something or not.

PS1: beta 0802 BIOS as I've said doesn't have those symptoms
PS2: I've not tested the JMicron module as I don't have right now any IDE in my system. I seldom add a friend's HDD for copy/backup.

    Anyway, good work!

hmm, this is wierd, for me ezflash is detecting usb key, however OC profile doesnt... you are sure this is because of moded bios? i mean i didnt notice this until i started to use moded bios and i just tought its some bug that i dont care for it :P anyway ill look in to it sooner or later (later means when next bios is released if not sooner :P)

I've said before the bios info module is corrupt when you write a modified bios image with current MMTool. That's probably why.

its not that. I replaced modules with amimmwin, fixed bios header + ebb checksum manualy, checked that modules 80 is normal size and it still doesnt work. This seems to be incompatibility with new ich roms and bios. Oh well, this seems to be only bug tho. Also with custom ich rom, alt+f2 ezflash you get usb drives, if you enter ezflash thrue bios they are gone....
