That was a WR, and it's the way it's always been. I sincerely hope nothing is changed because of all this bickering.

There will always be faster. There will always be company support and if these early runs disappear becasue of a few whiners it's gonna be really sad.

Keep pressing on. I don't care if it's a 975, 985, 995 or i1000, and I don't care if I can get one or I never get one. It does not change anything.

I also am aware that some of the scores are kept for competitions that folks travel to. Not everything is shown all the time, but I'm very grateful to the folks that post these records, and regardless of whether a CPU has been released or not I hope they continue if they so desire.

Since the thread got derailed, might as well add that FM needs to wire their ass tight and start approving drivers in a reasonable timeframe. Ever since the first 3DM run I did this has been a serious problem. I watched as people with i7's sat there for weeks waiting on them to approve the platform. I've watched for years WHQL's get released and have seen it take them weeks and in a few cases months befoee they got them approved. I've seen seen cases in the past where new WHQL's came out before they ever got the previous version approved.

I am glad to see Intel take this WR with new hardware, and hope they continue that, and hope Fugger continues to press on. It's what drives progress. I also hope the next time he does we won't see a thread get derailed.
