Ryba, they cannot discuss with you something under NDA no matter how nicely you ask. It may be best for them to claim it doesnt exist, do not stand on their nuts as they may not see the part for weeks.
The part is still a ways out from release but as you can see samples do exist.

As for anyone wanting to send in a request, dont. All Intel marketing and PR people will tell you the same thing and if you are a set for seeding just wait and be humble, spare them the trouble of telling you no and upsetting any relations you have going.

Sorry bro, but when I'm working in press NDA if exist is not the same for me like for normal ppl. And if this CPU have "gold NDA", why you are showing it? You are better than others?

Thank you for your answer. It is appreciated.

C'mon guys don't ruin a good thread. i like seeing the future, so to speak. i think it keeps things fresh,. no? Not everyone is lucky to get an NDA agreement or seeding agreement with Intel( or any company for that matter), has this ever been otherwise? My main concern is that when I buy my next chip i would like a D0 not a C0 when they come out for retail. Who wouldn't?

Ryba, these are not ready for press. I am not on the press schedule even though I do respect the NDA release date for when I go live with complete benches.

I work closely with other groups that I will not name, it is not uncommon for me to show new parts before press knows they exist. I am months ahead of yuor schedule.

FUGGER, will you be allowed to share other results?

I think you mentioned something about better "multithread and intercore operations" on D0, is it related to Uncore clock? (Feel free to not answer this one )

This has been bugging me for a few days watching this thread where the orginal meaning has been lost.
Intel has a new stepping with some improvements.
A release that is just a short time from official release not something thats 2 years down the road and they wanted to show those improvements so they sent it to someone they know and trust to show what it could do.
They may have also put stipulations on what could and what couldn't be shown and working within that envelope Charles and Mike posted the results.
    Seems that simple to me.
What boggles my mind is why their should be any controversy at all.
They did this openly and honestly.
In reality this is no different than when we were all using Q6600 B3's and someone showed the first G0..
Make sense or am I missing something?
The last point I want to make is that although i can somewhat understand some peoples feelings there are times when those feelings are better kept to oneself.
I, just like all of you, have read and watched posted results of new hardware and gone "OOH, isn't that sweet" followed by the thought of 'I'd love to have one of those" but then again so wouldn't I love to have a new ferrari but it 'ain't gonna happen"
Now I did get a Nehalem system prior to release and I didn't think why don't I get these things all the time but rather I sat there and Thanked the people involved for their generousity.
i'm not naive my friends, been around the block more times than I care to admit but I think some haven't matured enough to understand life and how it works.
Sometimes your lucky and sometimes your not.
The key is all in your perspective as I tried to get across earlier.
Don't see what you didn't get,be gratefull for what you did.
Sorry for the rant but I consider you people friends and it bothers me to see people upset over what I consider to be a non issue.
    Thanks for reading.

We will work together to create a public list of rules for world record submissions but not in this thread.

Frankly Charles my view is that FM is the only people that are claiming WR's by virtue of their listing TBH. The only others that are claiming WR's are Intel fans, and your own fans etc. It shouldn't be an issue outside of that.

I only say it with a lisp because I know how sensitive you are about your speech impediment when you pronounce my name and I don't want you to feel bad

Should be quite simple as it has always been. Unreleased hardware is fun to look at but not permitted for any record attempts. Once availability to public is possible then scores are valid. I think the only issue with these scores was the fact that it's an unreleased processor. If you had done it with a Core i7 965 it would just have been stellar scores

    Most derailed thread ever

Too bad, that you are not allowed to publish any other scores. I would really like to see 06 and vantage
You are as good as your samples are!

That was a WR, and it's the way it's always been. I sincerely hope nothing is changed because of all this bickering.

There will always be faster. There will always be company support and if these early runs disappear becasue of a few whiners it's gonna be really sad.

Keep pressing on. I don't care if it's a 975, 985, 995 or i1000, and I don't care if I can get one or I never get one. It does not change anything.

I also am aware that some of the scores are kept for competitions that folks travel to. Not everything is shown all the time, but I'm very grateful to the folks that post these records, and regardless of whether a CPU has been released or not I hope they continue if they so desire.

Since the thread got derailed, might as well add that FM needs to wire their ass tight and start approving drivers in a reasonable timeframe. Ever since the first 3DM run I did this has been a serious problem. I watched as people with i7's sat there for weeks waiting on them to approve the platform. I've watched for years WHQL's get released and have seen it take them weeks and in a few cases months befoee they got them approved. I've seen seen cases in the past where new WHQL's came out before they ever got the previous version approved.

I am glad to see Intel take this WR with new hardware, and hope they continue that, and hope Fugger continues to press on. It's what drives progress. I also hope the next time he does we won't see a thread get derailed.

meh... That's the way it's always been too. There's always a thread crapper or 2. I just take it for what it is and enjoy the real action, which is watching these amazing setups and talented folk push beyond the limits.

Charles, don't be naive and try to figure out how you can un-WR a score. You know as well as the rest out here that when a score beats the current top, it will be considered a WR, whether you like it or not. Even if YOU, yourself, don't consider it as a world record, other people will.

The only way I see how you could make this score (and any future ones) an un-official world record is by blackening out parts of the score, for instance the "026" in your score.

Other than that ... it's quite sad that this thread derailed SO badly. Certain people (not giving names for a reason) made quite a fool out of themselves here ...

I believe the entire system does not even draw close to 650watts, so 750watts still has plenty of headroom.
