Ok i dont know what happened, i just set my qpi/vtt to 1.24 or whatever is on the picture and everything worked perfectly. I have the performance mode to standard and im running ram @ 1600 with 8X multi and the timings are 8-8-8-24 with 1.5v which is what my ocz gold are rated at.

What do those do? I've left them alone so far.

These tighten/loosen subtimings just like the performance level settings with the last few Intel chipsets. You absolutely will see a difference but mostly in benchmarks. This is why I use standard for everyday use, and turbo for benching. Extreme mode = lock up city in my experience. Others may have had luck with some dram pull-in adjustments, but not I.

As a matter of interest - what difference is there between thes three settings - as I have not been able to get any difference on the multiplyer as 21 is the max - so how do these work?

I moved from the noctua to water and went from 4.1 to max oc of 4.3 - HT on.

This was my first water build and it went together very easily.
The noctua is an excellent air cooler but you can't compare air to WC.

The Feser quad is working out very well, thank you for asking.
