O well so much for playing with the x300, sucks as they clock really decent, MSI must have locked the bios something fierce, not even this command line would get it flashed.

    atiflash -p -f -fa -fm -fs -fp 0 sapphi~1.bin.

Nor would this atiflash -mb 0 <filename> or any commands with -pa

Any clue what error code 0FL01 means?

chew* you ought to tidy up your hwbot entries; the 2600Pros are showing up as AGP and your CPU is showing as "unknown".

    Nice work, though

The bios's for the 2600 pro's were highly modified and not with just RBE, I have quite a few fans on them for a reason (voltage beyond normal with RBE)
The cores can now do over 800 if i can keep them cool, nature in 01 is still a .

The IGP limits your ability to attain High clocks. That took some serious fine tuning.

I also Hosed the bios once, it would not even back up to the secondary bios, I also hosed the cards working on the bios, at one point neither the cards or motherboard were working.

I'm also sure loco is not going down that easily, he may have a reserve or reattempt and he's no slouch.
3470 already have core at 800mhz stock. They're passively cooled I image an active copper dual slot cooler would easily take them to 1,000mhz+ with a V core mod. 900mhz is how far I've pushed on stock then tend hit about 64C though.

Hmm, I would think the 4830, or 4670 or 36xx would have more potential for everyday use however.

Believe it or not the 2600 series cards in xfire are more than gameable save crysis. I never intentionally bought them to bench with, just they were cheap ($25 each on clearance) and I needed something HDCP compliant over my x1900xt while waiting for 4870.

I would muster a guess at x400 series cards having trouble keeping up with any x600 series card no matter how high they are clocked though. Defeating the everyday use category.

These particular cards with 1.3v run up to 24C then vpu recover after that, Nature on 01 was a , for reference 1.15 is the voltage used for the OC versions......

Well I was debating on what to tackle next, Guess its time to start running with the big boys and attempt something a little less obscure.

As I stated before this economy is preety harsh on me as I work in the shipping business ( which has taken a big hit ), on that note I'm a bargain shopper and try to find anything and everything on clearance.

I was about to drop my Birthday money on a couple 4830's when I happened upon these for the cost of a single 4870

Lets see what it takes to break I mean what these bad boys can do.

First shot maxxed CCC, stock settings clocks on everything else......Looks like we will have to unlock this bios....thats always a good sign.

Quick run at 3.6 to get an idea on scaling. So a ball bark is 442 points per 100 mhz providing you scale up NB/ht every 300mhz. 3.7g should crack 20K in theory.

Wow nice cards Chew* I got mine from the first batch when they launched. 690/1100 is as far as I can do. Good for 21.1k 3d06 with 3875mhz CPU and that's it.

Visiontek has yet to fail me AFI. My 4870 (visiontek) does 870/1100 so far, I ran out of ram clock slider bar.( have a tweaked bios for it now just haven't had time to play with it)

Looks like my scaling calculations were a tad conservative. This ones for you AFI, untweaked backed off ram a tad as i saw no diff in performance...My bios apparently backed off my ram timings when I tried to boot at 2800NB speed ( dont have AOD or k10 installed atm ).....it would have scored higher but I'm just screwing around atm.

Still have a long way to go, and definitely going to need voltmods/better cooling to get up with the top scores.

Ahh you kicked my ass already!

My cards are visioktek as well.

I need to see what I can run my CPU at for 3dmark this weekend, I'm only running 75mhz over my daily speed right now.

Open a window AFI, only way its gonna get there. Loves cold hates heat. Requires less volts once colder as well.

I have 2 4850's also... I have been to lazy to run them togethor since I put in a 940. I will rob the second 4850 from my second system and see if I can top your score Looks good by the way. I must warn you, I have one of the 4850's running 800+mhz

With 8.8 cats drivers the performance versus clocks is null and void for the most part. I aready unlocked them and tested 8.8 with 800 cores versus 8.12 and 700 cores stock bios.

That btw is not the score you will have to top 5-8-8-32 timings with very moderate nb speeds , no tweaks and still paging on a very small/slow HD.

If I get cat 8.12 or higher to work with an unlocked CCC its going to be a wrap for the WR around 4.6-4.7g....

I still need to finish dominating 2x2600 pro's and IGP 3300, aquamark and vantage are still up for grabs....next weekend should be interesting.

turn off paging... Well I will have to do some serious tweaking I can't top you, i will just pretend one of my cards exploded...Sorry I am in a weird mood today. Looking forward to your next runs.

Nah paging not a big deal, just add a HD install all programs benches on that, leave OS on the small drive. Just lazy atm, got a whole week to prepare.

You should be able to pull 22k rather easy charged, I have faith in you.

Fastest AMD 4850 CF setup? Because the WR for 4850 CF is done with a 5.7ghz intel.

Why are you using 8.8s and 8.12s? Are they faster than 9.1s?

AFI if you unlock CCC limts via RBE or other methods, the card will not work with anything newer than 8.8 or maybe it's 8.9's, I haven't played with 9.1's yet as I'm comfortable with 8.12 drivers and know what to expect score wise per clock.

Only need 18555 for 1st in single card and 28809 for duals. Maybe they stop scaling at a certain clock, AMD chips score better in GPU, IIRC gpu scores matter more.

Maybe my calculation is off but if the scaling trend continues, 22k = 4.0 (already past it ), 23k 4.2, 24k 4.4, 25k 4.6 ,26k 4.8 hmm my math was off ,long night.

So i need 5.4 in theory not including tweaks, higher clocked cards etc etc. I'm already working on LN2 arrangements. Dewer rental is $1 a day with $50 deposit. located a machine shop and a solid block copper supplier.

28.8k is HIGH. Phenom won't touch it. i7 stomps all over my scores at similar clocks. Fastest non quadfire phenom score on hwbot is 26,684 with a 4870x2 @ 809/920 and a 5390mhz phenom 2.

Hmm... I know you can raise the limit with a modded BIOS, but some genius at ATI decided to prevent the drivers from installing with a modded BIOS around 8.9 or 8.10. Took me an entire day to find a BIOS that would let me install drivers. Leave it to ATI to F everything up...

Nope. Like I said, ATIs driver monkeys ruined it. When I bought my 3870s I told my self I was never buying ATI products again because they have the worst drivers I have ever touched. Shame I didn't listen to my self

Yah I can run maxxed on both, gains seemed useless above 1150 ram ( Probably due to lack of higher core ). I need 975 core 1300 ram limits that work with newer drivers, thats probably the max volt modding will get me.....

Just to show what it takes to pull 22k. No windows tweaks or pagefile tweaks yet, just tweaking hardware in bios at the same ballpark CPU clockspeed.

With page file tweak, killing explorer and useless services, a few video card tweaks, running default res of bench you get the idea 22k should be a walk in the park...at 4.0g
