    ok here is the trick
first get the vcore stable first of course with lower qpi and lower ram bandwith
    once thats the confirm stable

then confirm ure ram setting with lower uncore

    for 4000 uncore
the trick is balancing the ioh voltage /ich voltage to the qpi
so far found ioh must be always set higher than ich roughly 0.4v difference
and setting 1.28v in bios will result in 1.24v

if voltages is in sufficient for ioh/ich say i set at 1.139/1.1v will result in 1.11/1.11 which is stock..
during 4x memtest hci around 400% or so two of them will result in errors.
and the ioh voltages will suddenly increase automatically to 1.24v in probe read and according to turboV 1.28set.

also u can tell from the bsod and error..
usually bsod is when qpi voltage is way inssuficient
and error is because of some off setting.

well ive so far gone right up to 221 bclk.. anything higher not possible as the bios doesnt allow me to do so.. setting 222 will result in 221 only..
    no idea y..
also after 200 bclk every increament of 1 is 0.8 bclk read.. no idea why thats happening also.. so so far 210x20 will result in 4195.8 approximately..

ps also could be relevant here for my resoning of higher nb voltage

runnin asus xonar d2X on pcie 3
    and 2xgtx285 pci at 110.
    wd raptor x 150gb
    wd 640gb aaks

ioh/ich pcie is at 1.51 stock.

also advice to set all the subtimings manually and test it
the bios defaults are way higher.

Updated front page with basicly everything anybody would need. Added all drivers and all utilities along with adding a few changelogs for the newer bios's. Enjoy!

Wow thanks for all of the apps and stuff on the front page. I have a few questions:
    1) are all of the Asus utilities compatible with each other (like AI Suite and Turbo V, etc.)
    2) it may also help people if you put links to the various freeware burnin stuff like Orthos, Linpack, coredamage, etc.

    Thanks

^^ the thread is for Asus RIIE so putting OC stability stuff is kinda pointless!

yeah I alreayd have CPU-Z listed on the front. I just wanted to keep it nice and neat and not littered with a bunch of stuff that has nothing to do with this board. Nice suggestion tho. someone needs to make a thread with a bunch of overclocking apps and download links all on one page.

Yeah, your right, wasn't thinking of that. By my line of thinking, we should put links to windows updates too!

I finally found a stable clock at 4.3 ghz but I did some testing and found my highest Vantage and 3dMarks score came from my 4.1ghz cpu clock wile overclocking my Asus 4870x2 (TOP) to 800/950(1900). Probably because my temps on my loop. Currently I am working on splitting it . I will try afterwards for a final 4.3 ghz clock . Thanks guys for the postings.. coudn't have got here without ya . Jason thanks for the updated drivers... fixed my bsod's from my soundcard !

Would there be any disadvantage to using the drivers for the X58 chipset and Matrix storage manager found on the stock intel x58 mobo? I saw that the chipset and storage raid drivers are updated from the ones on the Asus site. I figured since the R2e and the stock intel board run the same exact x58 chipset and same exact ich10r that the drivers would be swappable at least for those 2 pieces of the board. The rest of the board will require different drivers of course, but for those 2 pieces you can interchange the drivers. Anyone think its possible?
    I found them here: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filt...150&submit=Go!

Only one way to find out! Downloading now

Edit: Does not seem to work. The installer does not appear to install anything on the system even though it extracts and says installation completed.

In the registry HKLM\Software\Intel\InfInst you can verify proper installation and version number.

If you want to install a new Inf Update from Intel, unpack the downloaded file first and then run "setup.exe -overall" from the commandline.
This will force install all new drivers. I did this many times without any issues.

Well I just did a fresh install of windows vista x64 and used the drivers off intels site without using any sort of code. At the first installation screen I loaded my raid driver and then when it booted for the first time i just installed the inf chipset drivers normally, and looking through device manager, there is x58 naming on all sorts of system parts, which before the driver install, there was no mention of x58. So I think they went successfully. Also I looked the driver version up in regedit and it is the latest 1012 driver. So I guess it did install successfully.

The Command line parameter is only necessary if you update from previous drivers.
For a new installed Windows this parameter is not needed.

Hey guys, just joined the site, and been lurking around for a while. So I have the memory disappearing issue with my R2E board, and 6g of corsair dominator when ran at 1.65v and corsair timings, random channels would disappear, but it runs fine at 1.55v and 1600 at 8-8-8-22-1t timings. So hopefully this might help someone.

Go to the "CPU Configuration" Page

FYI: You have to have Speedstep Enabled to see turbo mode and also make sure your ratio or multi are set to AUTO
