    See my post above

Evil-98: The way the ring light flash illuminates the scene reminded me of the ambient occlusion rendering technique - soft, even shadows, looks nice

Amazing shot Evil-98, is it HDR ??

Great shot Marin, but the cable in between the shot ruins the beautiful view.

Nice shot party_animal, just a tad overexposed, try with -0.7 exp bias, the D40 - D90 series has a severe problem of overexposing the shots.

Thanks, ANP. I was trying to replicate a lomography kind of style to the photo. The original pictures isn't as exposed as that one
Also, would you guys get a decently big print of the picture I posted. Any changes that I should make?

it does diffuse the light really nicely, once i get my SB600 hopefully next weekend im going to build a larger ring flash, thing should get even more exciting.

no its just the way the scene is illuminated with the ring flash, gives alot of detail to the POV since the flash is directional and extremely diffused. all the dark areas receive a good bit of light so the end result is very surreal

heres another shot i took yesterday

Nice dust spec you got there. Might wanna invest in a blower, or just edit it out...

Yea pretty annoying, I cleaned the camera before with a blower and everything, and it was dust free, but I keep changing lens, so dust gets in all the time. I don't feel like sticking a blower inside the camera, I think the dust is from the lens.

Dust on lenses doesn't show in photos. That spec is on the sensor. Do you hold the body, mount side down when changing lenses, to prevent the dust?

I think that's a good idea, mounting the lens with the Camera mount facing down, thanks I will do that from next time.

The last i checked there was not a single spec on the sensor, Dunno how the dust gets on the pics, There are 2 dots on the lens though which are not coming off and they are from the outside.

I think I will make a trip to the local camera store and ask for some cleaning kit.

Its safe unless you blow it from a distance, since static electricity generating on the tip of the blower can cause some problems. Just keep the Mount facing down so dust falls down easily.

@Chicken Patty : You don't need a DSLR for getting great pictures, there are several pictures on Flickr explore and interestingness that are shot from a P&S. It your way of shooting and using the available light that gives life to the picture. A newbie with a D700 or Canon 5D MKII won't necessarily shoot better pictures then you with a P&S.

Great shot ZOMGVTEK, the red goes well with blue pcb, maybe that's why you like it.

@ Maxxx: That architecture looks like Indian, so I was quite curious.
