zsamz is correct. If you want to go faster you will be better off with a P35. If you you want to go even faster still, then get a UT-P45.
A look at the 4.7ghz link in my sig, and you will see 4 sticks of ram running at 563 fsb 24/7 stable.
The ONLY real reason for sticking with the X38/X48 platform, is if you must have 2x16 Pcie lanes. Even then the P45 will run Xfire at 2x8 Pcie lanes, not much of a loss to be honest.
I would say that the only real reason for having x38 is that some ppl have it already, and cannot afford for some reasons to change it.
What a hell, previous p35 was good, look at screen
http://valid.canardpc.com/cache/screenshot/447022.png
next p45 is even better
but this crappy board with its 500 fsb wall seems to be one of the worst dfi mobo
not talking about issues like incompability with 3870x2
enthusiast segment heh

The Rampage Extreme and DK T2RSB+ prove that the X48 chipset can clock past 500 FSB, it just seems that the LT/UT X48 is weak in that area.
I did past 500 FSB on my LT X38 just fine, though I got rid of it a few months back. Have they changed the BIOS or something?

with multiplier x6, max fsb i was able to get into the bios is 525
max fsb i was able to run super pi is 515, not fully stable though
what voltages on PLL, NB, VTT are required to run 520 and higher (with 4x1gb ram)?
well, i agree that the fsb limit on this board is near 530-540, but will be it fully stable at high multiplier 9 or 10?
and will be mobo voltages safe for running 24/7?

i hope you know how tough it is for a board to run 4 sticks
i couldnt run 4 sticks @ stock on x38-dq6
you need 1.65v nb 1.3v vtt keep pll volts to minimum setting or it will degrade your cpu and use only 333/800 divider
you not gonna go higher than 520 with 4 sticks
and if all your dim slots are not 100% you will only do 510
be smart n use 8-9 multiplier get the max out of your cpu you should be looking to max out your cpu not just the board and watch your temps

i cant set high multi or do load testing, coz i'm on stock cooling with cpu box cooler and nb heatsink on pushpins
i gonna make first watercool loop cpu ->nb ->pwm soon
but i try to find out max of this board with a good cpu and 4x1gb
so u say fsb520?
i have an option to change board to this one dfi p35
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=447022
is it worth? all watercool parts are compatible, it can count superpi at 580х9.5 already, and it does not have pci-e 2.0 and has older chip

im quite happy to stick with my x38 atm, it did cost me quite a bit with shipping & bank transfure fees etc lol towards £250.
im not just being a tight , i dont see the need for anything else atm. having a 9.5 multi on my cpu with 500+ stable fsb to play with is more then enough for me on my watercooling setup.
the newer bios's hav made the board feel quite different from the pre-45nm coded ones. not just coz the skews etc, just how it handles in genral.

i got both and the p35 is faster
its only worth it if you like me and want that xtra% in memory bandwith
the x38 needs less volts for my cpu n ram but i like the xtra bandwidth
but no way the p35 can match the x38 with 4x1
my gskills 4 gig set can do 1300 so i'm good
if you gonna use 4 stix stay with the x38
edit: when i go crossfire with my 4870 i will switch back to x38 hopefully dfi will have a bios that will like my e8600

change the paste add a fan
enjoy its a great board
but i would bought a dfi ut p45 if i were you
the p45 and p35 are equal i'd give a 0.5% edge to the p35 but the p45 will give higher fsb
and only the dfi ut p45 is equal to the ut-p35 the other brands dont come close
