going from 2gb to 4gb will effect your wei rating in a positive manner. 4gb of memory will score higher wei rating than 2gb if timings are the same. If the 4gb (4x1gb or 2x2gb) have higher latency and/or looser timings than the 2gb then the score may reflect this.

Each time you gain in wei from aperature the gain can be reduced if timings are higher since latency is increased and operations per second goes down.

I wish I knew precisely what the formula is.

can you tell me is it worth dropping to around the 1500mhz mark to get 1T timing over 2T im getting around 7150mb/s with these settings: tCL-8 tRCD-6 tRP-6 tRAS-15 CMD-2T tRRD-1 tRC-1 tWR-5 tWTR-16 tFAW-1 tREF-auto(7.7ns) tRFC-auto(100). Oh yeh, and 1.9v

Best way to tell is to run a few dif benchmarks with each setting. Say winrar bench (open winrar and hit alt+b) for example....Everest cache and mem bench....and perhaps NUCLEARUS, aswell as any others you like. This will give you a better idea of the performance of each set of timings. So long as you don't lose too many Mhz then I'd say 1t would probably perform better.

thnx heaps ill give it a bash prob tomorrow. with the timings i optimized them to above got no change in wei

I get 5.9 because it limits my score to 5.9 because I have less than 4 GB of ram on a 64-bit OS. IIRC it gave me a higher score on 32-bit windows 7.

lol i didnt know it made that much diff? ok ill give it a go, i did try it not long ago but it caused a few lockups.

xfx say its not supported for some reason, only banks 0,2 or something instead of 1,2

i dont think it should matter what order they are in as long as they are in duel channel mode right? its increased to around 8600mb/s... i wasnt sure to expect around 14gb/s?

It should be banks 1 & 3 for DC mode on that mobo (I think). It has to support dual channel...it's a standard. In DC mode you may need to use 2t cmd rate.....I'm unsure as I've never messed with that mobo.

You should definately pursue DC mode though as the guy above said, it'll provide a huge increase in bandwidth even if you need to take a speed hit..

that what i had them in before with 7600. they are in 2,3 (order 0,2,1,3 on the board) im d/l the manual now as i dont have it on hand.

Dual channel will double your bandwidth over single channel. It's like going from a 64-bit bus to a 128-bit bus. Triple channel would give a 192-bit bus.
