Also in CPU Z i see that the multi jumps from 21 to 20,5!! I did the 21X trick as EVA2000 explained in the start post. I also tried to bump any voltage: CPU VTT/ ICH/ IOH. Perhaps i forgot something??? Anyone tips to gain back my 4200 mhz stable CPU?
for vista the power saving profile needs to be set to high/max performance and not power saving for cpu multi to stick

DFI UT X58-T3EH8 users updating to 01/14 beta NEED to read this important note especially if you use the ABS profile system application and incorrectly loaded older bios based version profiles on a newly updated bios based board and have laggy mouse and usb/floppy bios flashing experience > http://i4memory.com/f80/dfi-ut-x58-t...eleased-13876/

i set it to high/max but multi keeps flipping in CPU-z 21/20.5/20. Strange. That happens only when i fully load the cpu with prime95.

I can't get my gtx280 to work on this board I get FF code I tried to resit several times already.
    p.s I tried 7600gt and it works in pcie 1 but gtx280 won't. I tried gtx280 in pcie3 and it works.
p.s.s. Seemed to fix it by taking the battery out and resetting rtcp.

My GTX280 works fine in DFI first slot, except in shutdown o reset from windows xp x64 sp2 (bios 106). The issue is solved setting all Pcie root ports to Disable (advanced bios settings) except the pcie port where the vga is placed. Try this.

try between 1536 and 2176 values and see..

you can install both working video card and gtx 280 and if you have lcd monitor have one card dvi input and other analog and boot using working card and switch outputs to confirm if gtx 280 is working (well if you get black screens)

Never worked for my GTX280 the trick of lowgap. The pcie root trick works like a charm.

the beauty of pure logic hehe

BTW, I am curious to know whether the shutdown/restart problem in xp x64 is related only to the GTX280 or is general...

Ah, i thought you already knew this, eva. I already have post this issue in DFI forum.
When i install Windows XP x64 (SP2) in my rig, everything is fine until i try shutdown or reset the system. Shutdown -> power on leads to 88 code, board dead. Reset leads to system hangs, FF code and blank screen. Only reset cmos with jumper or unplug and replug the PSU wire restore the system. The workaround that solve this problem is play with pcie roots settings.

do you set your pcie 1 to auto or enabled ?
man it's driving me nuts already I get the damn blank screen and FF code. I've tried the solutions you guys told me but it last for a couple of boots and then again FF and blank screen.
Could it be the bios ?

DiamondFlash Image for BIOS is working for 114? The flashing process with my floppy has stopped just before the cheksum. I had to make a dangerous hard restart . Fortunately the Bios has not been corrupted. Flashing with the pendrive method is ok.

same here, you need let it hang like that for 12-20 minutes or more it takes forever and then it flashes
