    I dunno what you guys are talking about, probably comparing the old Gigabytes or old bios...

    Guys I got both DFI X48 and the Gigabyte UD3P in front of me here and all I can say is that the Gigabyte UD3P over performs my DFI in every single way including Bandwidth.

    You cannot compare apple with oranges, DFI's runs at PL6 and Giga's PL8.

    My DFI at 486fsb and 1215MhzDDR2 speed / PL6 gave me 10585Mb/S and the Gigabyte gives me 10K with PL 8 and 1166MhzDDR2 that is a HUGE difference between faster speed on DFI and PL6.

    So bit per bit Gigabyte UD3 is faster then DFI or any other board to be honest.

    And also Asus, DFI,MSi,Bio, etc can't generate 5095Mhz on a Quad Core not even in their wildest dreams.

    This same chip on the DFI maxed out with 486fsb...

    Zsam it's time to get a Gigabyte again!

    to be quite honest i would not take a gigabut board for free
    i wont be no gigabut guinypig again ever
    3 crap gigabut boards in 1 year is enough for my lifetime i wont even buy a gigabut usbdrive
    when i fry my ut p35 i getting the ut p45
    when i use a quad it wont be on a 775 board
    dfi did drop the ball on the x38-48

    ok

    Well i agree the ud3p is a good board, and the gigabyte boards i had were ud3p burned out in 2 days, ep45t- ud3p ddr3 version totally sucked, and a ep45-ds3r. I disagree with you on the bandwidth, i ran my board at the same settings , same memory as other people had, and the bandwidth was 400-500 points lower at least in everest, i have had 3 gigabytes in the last 4 months, look in this thread and look at zsasm everest runs, i would like to you crack 12k, or even 11,500 on that ud3p, im sorry buddy gigabyte boards overclock just awesome, but the peformance is subpar at best, you can have your gigabyte board, i wish you the best luck. I have my first asus board a striker 2 extreme and comparing it to the ep45t , the asus just destroyes it.

    I've done that without much effort mate...

    Dunno what was your problem with these boards but sometimes it can be that little device siting between the chair and the screen

    I would like to see some of your SS's showing Asus destroying anything. *j/k you don't need to send me anything*edit

    Now seriously memory bandwidth means nothing if the board doesn't perform well...

    Thanks zsamz and sorry i am late, i have been for a while with the config you recommended trying to get results similar to yours. The highest i try is at 506fsb with 4/5 and pl7, but the board seems to break in pieces:

    Same happened with pl6, best results are at 484fsb and 3/4, with about 1,72vnb, too forced for me:

    At the end i returned to 430fsb and pl5, after playing crysis some time i rechecked again with everest and seems that while gaming the memory works different, probably a fail:

    Sorry and thanks again

    No luck with less vnb at 506fsb and pl7, prime blend fails with 1,55v in secs, 1,60v in 6 minutes and 1,65v after 9 minutes. At 1,68v passed almost 1,30h but i stopped because was getting toasts, i´m done at lower fsb zsamz, thanks for your help

    @MrHydes
    this is the p5e with his latest 1102 bios, an old x38 but still working well, have been rejuvenated a bit with these kit. I should try your rampage extreme, those x48 rog looks great boards!

    @Zsamz
    i´ll try again tomorrow using pl8 and 4/5 at 506fsb keeping those vnb, for everyday use i personally prefer the lowest tRD possible at lower volts, but been capable of getting this rig stable at high fsb is a must for a good bechmark session, only needed a cpu than clocks like yours. i found also that at 484fsb with 3/4 and pl7 although according to everest more than about 100mb/s in read/write/copy are missed compared to pl6, the latency remains the same, i have to study that further, the bios and memset must be working different because as i know the latency should increase at higher pl, maybe this x38 can´t scale more, i´ll report back if found more info.

    @WaterFlex
    these cellshock you got there looks nice too, great speed at low volts, if you are using 5/6 that must speedy the bandwidth at low latency. The music of your page sounds good for a bechy session

    Thanks all you!

    Zsamz, i tried last night pl8 506fsb up to 1,63vnb and blend test still crash, maybe more fsb vtt is needed but don´t want to touch it, time ago i wasn´t cautious with an e8500 and his vcore and vtt and probably that´s why it degrades because this e8600 has been rock solid since i got it keeping vtt at default and vcore at the lowest possible. The results at 484fsb and pl7 are close to yours at 490fsb with the dfi x38 and 3/4, good enough, i´ll keep testing, thanks and happy for your help

    zsam, Damm I don't know what to do with you! I guess I'll have to end up sending one of mine UD3P's or Extreme to you or show an above 12000Mb/s screen!

    I think I know what zsamz is saying, the DFI UT P45 produces the best bandwidth of any P45 board I have seen for any given FSB / ram speed. It's faster than my Asus, and can clock higher too. It's not too far off the bandwidth of the UT P35 and that is no small feat.

    Everest bandwidth/latency isn't the be all and end all though, I'd like to see some SPI32M & 3D runs of a UD3P vs a UT P45 at identical settings.
