I used to play Magic: The Gathering.

How much difference in PPD would you get between Harpertowns at 2.66 GHz and 3.0 GHz? And are the 3.0 GHz chips worth it, since they're about double the price of the 2.66 GHz chips (at least here in Oz)?

It gets kinda boring after 6. I'd like to see some more like platinum and diamond.

Do you think getting the new Seagate Momentus 7200.4 500GB 2.5" drive is worth the 130 euros? My current laptop HDD seems to be dieing and I really want a big, fast drive.

No. it is not worth it as most lappy hdd's have the os integrated with them. As they don't send out a windows CD.

If you could be any computer part which would it be and why?

I'd be the memory. I get replaced the least often out of the "proper" components and I wouldn't be overloaded with crap like an HDD.

Yeah, that'll be an upgrade for her.

Anyone else excited about the Q7500? 2.5 Ghz, 800 FSB, 2 Mb Cache, US$150-ish. Should clock fairly well

    Too expensive still.

Will I sell this Encore 8-port 10/100 switch? And, is a Radeon HD 4850 for $135-$15 MIR worth it?

Not sure about the switch, if somebody needs one then they'll buy it, if nobody does, nobody will. And about the 4850, that's around half of what you pay here in Switzerland, that's a good price.

Will I enjoy my law exam tomorrow or will I come out screaming?

A combination of both. You'll be screaming during the exam and come out enjoying the fact that it's over.

Why do you want to upgrade your E8400?

Probably. The world is happy giving you those points.

And Bobsama, I want to upgrade my E8400 because it refuses to overclock properly, I want more cores to crunch with, and I'm bored.

    All the time.

I'd like to make an announcement: THIS IS MY 1,000th POST. Thanks for being around for the first 1,000, I hope you'll all be around for the next 1,000! I can finally take it easy now, I've posted too much today.

Have you noticed that there are never any sales for Red Bull? It's always three times as expensive as the cheap stuff, and still everybody buys it.

I'm getting *three* pieces of hardware this week. Maybe you'll see my HWBot go up a bit. 8800GT-256, perhaps HD4850-512, and 4GB DDR2 800 CL4. Maybe there are a few more points in there...

My only PC insurance is being able to tear it apart and sell stuff, to replace it all. So no, no real insurance.
