FF or 80 is normal for run condition. Only problem if it hangs at FF.

    Hi everyone.

I nearly have all my parts together for my bloodrage build.
I am stuck on what memory to get. Help me out?

I have a i7 920 and my target will be 4.0 and would like to run my memory as
high as possible. I have seen people get 2000+ with

It's suppose to show FF when everything's working right.
I've never seen 80 after FF on this board or any of the other foxconn boards that I've owned.

As long as you use DDR1600 you should hit 4.0 without a problem (at least RAM wise). Some DDR1333 could reach such clock but 1600 could definitely do it since 920 at 4.0GHz will bring the RAM up to it's rated speed.

    AFAIK:

G16 includes the BIOS changes to fix the incompatibility with some high wattage PSUs like the PC Power & Cooling 1200W.
Don't have a change log, so I don't know if they fixed another issue with this one.

I really don't know ( at least not yet )
I'm going to re-start my testing in a few hours and give G16 a try.
I shall have some results and a general image of the new BIOS later on.

They must have only 1 or 2 "Stable" BIOSes, P03 and P04 if I recall correctly, and they should be online soon.

They'll probably start posting the Beta BIOSes on Quantum-Force.net soon.

    Easy!
Check the following repository, I upload the new BIOSes as soon as they're handed out from Foxconn's labs.

[ In the main folder I will be uploading the official "stable" releases, and the beta's and pre-release BIOSes in the... Beta folder. ]

I have a noob question, how do you flash the bios? The last board I had was the A8N32 s939 board, which uses floppy to flash, and I am not planning to install a floppy on my next build.

You have 2... actually 3 if they fix the ALT+F2 AWDflash, options.

You can use Foxconn Live Update or Award's WinFlash v1.92 to flash your BIOS within Windows.

There's also a AWDflash incorporated in the BIOS and should pop-up and allow flashing by pressing ALT+F2 during POST, but it doesn't seem to be working right now.

Whenever I have attempted to use this method of updating the BIOS, I lose the BIOS upgrade when removing power from the mobo. Updating the BIOS via USB/floppy/CD etc, there are no issues.

    Wait a second!
What do you exactly mean by saying "Everytime I remove the power from the mobo I lose the BIOS upgrade" ?
You're saying that you're flashing the main BIOS with version G15 ( for example ) and after removing the power from the board it goes back to G13 for example ?
Have you fiddled with the on-board BIOS option jumpers ?

Sounds like it doesn't write new bios in winflash or foxupdate

I always use USB drive, cause it feels safer that way.

That is 100% correct. I was testing the secondary BIOS. Originally, I had P02 installed, so decided to upgrade via the Fox Live update. It properly updated the BIOS to G13, but when I removed power, it went back to P02.

After which, I used my USB drive to update the BIOS and worked with no issues when removing power.

I will attempt to duplicate this on the primary BIOS and post results.

After flashing the BIOS, if you're using the secondary BIOS chip, in the first post it'll show up the info of the main BIOS because the defaults settings are set to use the main BIOS chip.
Did you select to flash the Backup BIOS in Foxconn Live Update ? Because that's the 2nd BIOS chip.

alright i'm try to get either evga or blood rage from foxconn, and I can't decide.

any advantage of evga over the foxconn or vice versa that you guys could think that will push me to get a foxconn? i don't do tri-sli, and i doubt i will use more than 6gb ram, so seem both board meet my requirement.

i'm just try to do a detail comparsion between the two. ahh can't decide pulling my hair out
