    Project: Reaper

    Hey Guys,
This is my first build log. See my sig for hardware that I am using. I had completred this computer but decided to stripe it down and take my time building it back up exactly how I wanted it in the first place. These photos show a before shot and the computer striped down ready for rebuilting. The chassis will sent to the powder coaters for a matt black finish and the grey plastic shrouds will be sent to a local body shop for a black mirror finish.

While these case is away I started sleeving cables and adding coiling to the tubing between CPU-NB-SB-MVR.. I had a fair bit of trouble with kinky with this koolance tubing. I would move to something like tygon but a spent a fair bit of money on these koolance compression fittings and they will not fit tygon tubing because of its greater wall thickness.

Funny thing about reading, its really enjoyable and educating. anywho...

he stated that he would have liked to have gotten Tygon but the compression fittings he wanted to use wont work with it... so hes stuck with koolance tubing which he finds kinks easily (what a surprise).

    Hey mate,
The photo shown was a shot I took half way through adding the tube coiling, I will add some photos of the finished product. I also picked up the black shrouds from the bodyshop today and I must say that they turned out awesome, it is an even better finish then I expected. The painter said the paint should be fairly durable because it was baked and that it will come up even shiner with some car wax. I will post some photos as soon as possible. Now just awaiting the chassis from powder coating..

    Cheers.

Some photos of the shrouds. Excuse the dust they had been sitting at the body shop all day I will get around to give them a wax soon. My photography skills do not do the paint finish any justice.

I wanted a mirror finish on the shrouds to stand out from the matt black chassis. I have found in the past that it is not possible to get a high quality finish with a can of spray paint and I dont really have the equipment to do it at home. The paint they used was automotive paint that was baked on which should give it a harder surface.

    Cheers

The long loop is from my old build, they will be replaced on this one. I did not have tube coil when I first put it together so the tubes could not be to short or they would kinky. See my sig for type of pump..

I got the case back from powder coating yesterday. Excuse the fingerprints. Just a tip, if you get your case powder coated have a tap handy to remove excess coating from treads.

The paint on the shrouds was AUD$110 & it was AUD$75 for the powdercoating. Sorry about the delays I am waiting for 5 new Yate Loon 120mm High Speed Fan (D12SH-12) and a new 1000W Real Power Pro Coolermaster Modular power supply. I have got a 850W Real Power Pro Power supply but it is not modular and I find it hard to secure the right side panel when all of the wires are routed through there.

Just a quick update, I had a couple of days free to work on my build so I made the most of my time since I had 90% of the parts I needed. Sorry for the lack of photos as I did not have my camera on me at the time. These photos were taken of an iphone so excuse the quility.

    Cheers
