So I finally tested my setup yesterday

    i7 920 + Asus P6T non Deluxe

    I can prime @ 3.8Ghz with 1.29v but I can't seem to prime 4Ghz even at 1.4v

I know I have an A chip, I'll check the batch once I get home.

    Are you using 200 x 20x
    36x QPI
    16x uncore
    8x memory?

If you are, just change the following and give it a try...

    15x Uncore
    6x memory

Add QPI voltage until it's stable at 4ghz. Prime blend needs it.

Thats the same batch I have sitting here. Waiting for the motherboard and then will be able to put it all together. At first, I will only be cooling on stock cooler. But, will post up my results regardless.

There is one seller at eBay selling this batch, I am dying to know how it performs.
According to my speculations it should be a cherry pie

    Please let us know GenTarkin/derektm.

Is there any reason I shouldn't grab one of these off ebay? It's nice to know the batch number you're getting instead of playing the lottery with alot of the online retailers.

I don't know about the multis because I only get values. I'm using the lowest for each one of those...

How much do you think is enough? Is 1.4 too much? Should I try 1.5v+?

FYI. I grabbed my i7 920 off of that $269 shipped Amazon deal and it's an "A". Still waiting on my mobo n mem to get here, so I don't know if it's a good or bad one. I'm determined to hit 4GHz 24/7, so I may end up having to try n find a "B".

Do it slowly, the value required is highly dependent on the sum total of your settings. The highest I've gone is 1.375v which was required for Prime blend stability at 20x200, 3600mhz QPI, 3200mhz Uncore, 1600mhz memory @ 8-8-8-21-1T, HT enabled, turbo disabled. The highest recommended by Intel is 1.35v.

if the bump in qpi/vtt doesn't do it, try my recommendation.

If you go a bunch of pages back, someone posted the limits from intel. The limit to vcore is 1.55. VTT limit is 1.35.

IMO these chips require a harmony of voltages not just jacking 1 or 2 of them through the roof.
Try playing around with the qpi pll and other voltages a bit. Sometimes a bump on one of those helps.

None near me I'd pay someone $270 + shipping if they were to have a spare one.

My opinion as well, which is why I am still trying to collect detailed data for a study.

I still need those of you hitting 4.0ghz on relatively low voltages to please post in your full settings and voltages. I promise, no aminals will be harmed in my research, and the results will be posted for all to benefit from.
