i had x64 working in virtualbox just fine. you have to use the AMD64 link. its the 64bit version

64bit OS requires 64bit kernel mode drivers. 32bit applications on the other hand aren't a problem.

You can set the desktop background to be a slideshow. A bit of OSX is creeping through.

Vista64 drivers seem to work just fine. Windows Update should have your chipset drivers at the very least, and us ATI folk should have the latest beta display driver (but not the catalyst control panel) available though Windows Update as well.

NVIDIA have beta drivers though update as well.
I did download the Nvidia drivers through Windows Update.
Has anybody received indexing errors from trying to install 32-bit drivers? I've had them a few times now, and I think that's where they've come from. Of course, I won't be installing 32-bit drivers anymore, but I had to ask because I want to make sure it's not my hard-drive. Error check doesn't bring up anything in HD Tune.

You've been able to do this on unix for an eternity, it's not just OSX.
@Yukon- don't try to install 32 bit drivers on a 64 bit OS, ever. If the OS is well behaved then it will refuse, otherwise you have no idea what's going to happen.
Yah, I just learned that a couple days ago. First 64-bit OS for me.
For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.
If using a 64bit OS you should enable memory address remapping in bios too!

OSX is really the only Unix-like OS I've used for longer than a few hours. Ubuntu doesn't want to tango
My personal flavours are either FreeBSD, Gentoo or Debian. But I've never really taken much taste to *nix GUI and never used OSX for more than a few minutes at a time.
I wish they would combine the flexibility of *nix shells ie zsh/bash/csh and Windows UI. I would be in heaven

I just couldn't get my video drivers installed on Ubuntu. It said there were no restricted drivers available, and if I tried to manually download and install them, it would half install and prevent me ever downloading other packages. With Windows I just run the setup, restart and it works. In Win 7 the drivers are already installed.
Yah the basic stuff is a PITA so i just say "What am i going to gain from all this anyway? Fancy desktop effects?" Vista is perfectly safe and works just great even on 1GB of RAM. What i'm really interested in is whether anyone has gotten OSX to run a PC
