I never realised these cases could fit a tripple rad up top.

I might look at one now, seeing how the Lian-li V2010 and
silverstone TJ07 are so damn expensive, though this is only
a little cheaper.

yeah its fits a triple rad perfectly with space to spare. this is my first real custom build so i dont exactly know what im doing and am just trying things and hoping they work out. im actually gonna try hiding the triple rad between the top piece and the frame which will make the triple rad not visible. i think itll turn out good. getting the mobo today.

was just about to order the cpu but im torn between the e8500 and the 8600, its almost a $100 difference for negligible difference stock speeds.
im hoping to do 4.0-4.2 ghz as my 24/7 clock and upwards of 5 for benching. any opinions on this would be appreciated.

sorry about the bad picture quality, just wanted to show everyone what the thermal paste looked like off the line. it actually wasnt that bad compared to the EVGA and BFG boards ive seen where they put way too much on and is completely smeared all over the chipset. i give the manufacturer a thumbs up for this one. cleaned and prepped for maximum efficiency. i just ordered the GTZ WB for the CPU, the NB WB along with a sleeving kit. stay tuned.

installed the rad and the 3 antec 120 mm blue LED fans. hiding the rad between the top piece and the frame did NOT work at all. i spent about a good three hours doing everything to make it fit. i shaved the sloping sides of the inside of the top piece and i took out the back plate underneath at the rear of the top piece and it still just would not work, i still think it looks clean and the fan wires are hidden so oh well. stay tuned.

Very nice work - loving the vivid blue and contrasting black interior

I have the same case and cut out the restrictive plastic web structure under the top mesh to help with the rad cooling - something I picked up from Project Raistlin.

btw, im trying to mod my PSU with a 120mm blue LED yate loon fan.
the yate comes with three wires. red black and yellow.
the stock fan comes with 2 wires. black and red. how do i mod the wires to make this work?

Hi, yes this is the post. With the amount of air that gets blown from the mesh at 70% fan speed I believe this mod really helps.

The rad install is exactly as you have it - mine too although I used some of the rotational barbs with 90 degree angles to help with my tube routing.

Good choice of water block

The original PSU fan does not use the yellow speed sensing wire - just solder the connector from the original fan to the replacement but ignore (cut off) the yellow wire. If the new fan spins slower than the existing one you may compromise cooling of the PSU so worth checking the specs first.

Many thanks (couple of pics here). Took some time - replaced the side mesh with an acrylic panel - what are your plans for this ? - looking forward to see your build develop.

Plenty of options to slow a fan down but difficult to speed one up. Do yate loon or anyone else make an LED fan with similar speed to the PSU fan ? - probably best to try and source one as close as possible.

psu is installed. put a new LED fan in there and tossed the old one. it just would spin fast enough no matter what i did. flipped the sticker upside down too.

You have the PSU mounted upside-down

If you flip it over the 120mm fan can draw air through the base of the chassis which includes a dust filter, plus it makes for much better cable management as the wiring loom feeds straight out and behind the motherboard tray like this

i know what you mean, i did have the psu with the 120mm fan drawing air through the bottom before i started this build. but after i did the fan mod i really wanna be able to see the fan. plus its only a couple inches extra that are seen. every other wire will be pulled from behind the mother board. the sata/power cables for the cd drive will be hidden. sata/power for the HDD's will be hidden. it will be very very clean. i can sacrifice those couple inches.

1) Can you give me some specifics on the backwards HDD install, i want to do that as well.

all i did was cut a small hole in front of where the HDD box sits. ill route the sata cables along the back and itll be hidden by the little bridge in between the holes. thanks for the link, ill study the mod and decide on it. im getting really sick of the dust particles showing in the flash.

Nice link from Shoota - just read the whole thread. That's a lot of work to get 38mm fans up top though.

Also, if you plan to remove the plastic grille I did mine with a dremel about 5mm from where the leg joins the main moulding and then used a sharp blade to cut the rest off. This left a cleaner cut than the molten plastic that the dremel disc left.

My PSU hits 50 degrees with it fan down so just keep an eye on your temps to see if it is drawing in warm air from inside the case.

definately will watch the temps. its not too hard to flip it over anyway. got the e 8500 today. batch Q828A320. installed and the mobo is ready to go. gonna head up to lowes to get some tubing.

I went and bought myself the cosmos, I give up on the TJ07,
I can find one under $400, and thats for the damn silver one.

Anyway, I like the Cosmos, it's a nice build quality,
I'm not to pleased at having to top mount my rad, but it will do...

I'm not going to mod the case at all, I don't have time anymore,
I'm just keen to get my main rig up and running again
after being out of action for so long.

Good Choice

The biggest issue during my build was trying to get the RHS panel back on as the latch system can be awkward if the panel has any uneven pressure on it so be carefull with your cable management.

In use not having a reset switch can also be annoying although I have a blue Bulgin reset switch to fit in the lower drive bay mesh when I get five minutes. Apart from that the touch 'PS3' style ON switch can also play up after a power down to the mains which means you have to disconnect the PSU mains cable to restart the PC. Minor gripes though really as it does what I wanted.
