http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/...295-benchmarksIF YOU LIKED our set of 285 scores, we present you with over 100 more GT295 scores. Unlike the 285 article, we promise to be less snarky this time.
Just kidding. Here are the scores, once again on an Intel i7 3.2/965 overclocked to 3.33 for no real reason. It still uses 6G of DDR3/1600 9-9-9-24 on the broken OS SP1, 64-bit. The drivers are the 180.87s, and they are not WHQL'd, Beware of NV pre-release drivers, they have a way of scoring higher than what come out in the next WHQL set... coincidence of course.
We spent the last few days checking all over Taiwan, and the 295 is pure vapor. There are only going to be a handful made to grab some benchmarks and give to the press, then bye-bye. If you don't have one yet, you probably won't get one. Some might call it a sleazy PR stunt to take advantage of the gullible and use the press, but if were up to us, we wouldn't be so nice.
Once again, here are over 100 benches, 101 to be exact. They start out at 1920, and move on to 2560 just like the last ones. Once again, enjoy them, this couldn't happened if we played ball, so for your added and early enjoyment, we don't.
Our deepest condolences go out to those who do. µ
so basically the inq is saying this card will never actually see retail? wtf?!
Err, i think charlie's being a bit of an anti-trust paranoiac there, cos hopefully one of the "handful" is on it's way to me tomorrow.
Nice looking scores though, i guess. killer vantage scaling, but who didn't see that coming.
so by vaporware thats what they are getting at right, something just for press and records but not actually hitting retail? and when everyone says Charlie, is charlie from the inq the same charlie from here that had yoda in his avatar?
Yes, it's the Inquierer, but for once I can actuially agree with them. Is this any surprise? How mnay people are gonna buy one of these? I know I'm not even considering one, and money is no object to me, so if they can't sell one of these to me, it's gonna be a very hard sell. This card was a bad idea from the start. It's not something that can be mass produced or supported very long. It's not cost effective. If you bought one forget a step up plan becasue there would be nothing to step up to that was remotely like it that companies could afford to let users step up to. My bet is it's gonna be hotter than the etrnal fires of hell the way they have the heat trapped in this thing.
My bet is it's gonna be special order only, with conditional warrnaties, and very strict return policies. BFG was ther first place to list one of these online and it's already showing special order only. My suspicion is that these companies do not wanna get financially committed to this card and are trying to avoid any lossses associated with it.
