looking great so far eva have you done any stability testing higher than 4ghz or are the temps too high for your liking?
I have a question: can you orient the "Flame Freezer" (external attachment to the SB/NB/PWM heatpipe system) up and down or just up?
Sig is under construction
nice board indeed, does this DFI could be stable with 4ghz & all dimms occupied?

Honestly after a day or so i probably got conditioned to seeing 1067 = 8x, 1333 = 10x, 1600 = 12, 1866 = 14x, 2133 = 16 so didn't think of it as a problem. And as per my notes at http://i4memory.com/102537-post3.html
thanks for the info didn't check on 12/31 but it was fine on 12/18 hehDFI UT X58-T3EH8 bios automatically scales UNCORE frequency in bios by a ratio of 2:1 as you increase your DRAM memory frequency in bios. For example, set DRAM memory frequency at DDR3-1067Mhz and bios automatically moves UNCORE frequency to DDR3-2133Mhz. You can move the DRAM frequency down again and it will keep UNCORE frequency as previously set if you want to try UNCORE frequency greater than 2:1 ratio t DRAM memory frequency.
temps too high considering prime95 at 4ghz 1.328v is around in 73-83C regions. I think rock stable 24/7 for me will be around 3.8ghz 1.232v air cooled.
up and down but for desk top horizontal bench rig would look strange hehe
haven't tested as i don't have that many modules as 4 of my 6 gskill hz are d9jnm and 2 are samsung hcf0. Until I have more memory samples from ram manufacturers I won't be able to test such configs heh
not much use for it yet and asking the wrong person for audio know-how. I still use $10 head phones and $20 speakers with my pcs (all with onboard sound) and couldn't tell difference between quality sound and normal haha
Next up on the tables

The manual for this board says that Dimm 1 is the slot closest to the CPU and we should install dimms in 1,3,5 right? So this layout is the opposite of other mobos that has Dimm 1 beginning in the 2nd slot?
Which set of dimms should be used for 3 Dimm operation?

[QUOTE=eva2000;3548880]Honestly after a day or so i probably got conditioned to seeing 1067 = 8x, 1333 = 10x, 1600 = 12, 1866 = 14x, 2133 = 16 so didn't think of it as a problem. And as per my notes at http://i4memory.com/102537-post3.html
I've kinda gotten use to it too now, but if its was different to start I don't think I would have ended up bricking a bios. Something like how Asus or Evga shows the cpu clock and memory clock after settings are entered prior to restart. That would be nice. My board really overvolts bad .05v on vcore & vtt and .07 on ram if you can trust smart guardian. It seems I have to overvolt my ram to get this board stable but I haven't dropped below DDR3-2000 to confirm yet. More tweaking up later.
One Quick question, your bios settings and screen shots under cpu feature show "TDC Enable" & "TDP Enable". I don't have these options. Is there some other setting that enables them to show or am I missing something. I think I may be on an earlier bios which is why I tried to flash before, but I'm spooked now and don't wanna brick another.

It's weird TDC options showed up first time and since haven't been seen - could be only 965 option so 920/940 don't have it ? or bios update did it..

That's great EVA. The failure of the EVGA and ASUS boards is that they work up to about 191 Mhz BCLK, but at higher BCLK they won't come out of SM. Did you test at full BCLK? Also, could you check and see how many seconds elapse to resume from SM, power button to desktop appearing? I'm asking cause although the giga works, it's very slow, about 19 seconds. Many thanks!
My board suddenly decided not to be stable on the settings i was running for days (prime stable 213 x 19 for 4 hours+ ).
It's suddenly producing bsod's and instant reboots for no reason at all.
I came across this through GTA IV wich suddenly let my screen go black and reboot the pc.
When i checked stability again with prime it gives errors within seconds of starting, and this on the exact same settings/bios as it was stable for hours a few days ago.
I heard a pop a few days ago and have a feeling something on the board has fried ..... but haven't stumbled on anything yet
Will get a new board tommorrow for testing and i guess then we now![]()

@SmokeyTheBandit, what were the settings? I'm curious about the voltage used on vtt/qpi. I see in your sig vcore & vdmm.

Tried every version (12/18--12/30--12/31) but made no difference at all.

New beta BIOS (2009-01-06) is out:
http://www.dfi.com.tw:8080/portal/CM...rmal&mode=viewMajor Reasons of Change:
1. Patch some board can not boot up as error code hang "B2".
2. Update Intel CPU micro code.
3. Fixed the S3 resume fail when insert Hard Disk to SATA 3/4 port.
4. Patch for SetFSB utility can not run .
I'm getting my board tomorrow, hopefully.
Intel Xeon E3-1275 v2, ASUS P8Z77 WS, Kingston KHX16C9K2/16X, Zotac GTX 570 AMP!, SB X-Fi Titanium, AVerTV Hybrid Speedy PCI-E, Intel SSD 330 120GB, WD1500HLFS, WD7501AALS, Pioneer BDC-S02BK, Pioneer BDR-207DBK, Corsair HX1000W, Lian Li PC-A79B (noise insulated), 6x Noctua NF-S12A FLX, Corsair H100i, Corsair K70, Razer DeathAdder, Eizo S2431 WH-BK, Teufel Motiv 5
The first 100+ Linpack test which passed my newly purchased Ga x58 extreme did that @ 1.30 Qpi/1.1 IOH in 19x211/x36/x16/x8. Since then the board has never returned to pass any test in this settings under 1.34v Qpi/1.28 IOH.
At first I also thought that i had something fried. But now I feel that my current voltages seem much more reasonable and true in terms of stability. I think today that only the settings that have paseed 300+ linpack runs are really reliable.
Simply 19x213/852 Men freq/7-8-7-21 @ 1.24v Qpi/1.12 IOH they are values that I consider to be unreliable in terms of genuine stability. As I also happened to me, those values seem typical of a "false positive".
(Only my 2 cents)

**Sorry by my Spanglish**
I toyed with a gigabyte EX58-UD4P and it was much easier to get a 4.2GHz bench stable overclock than the DFI though the bclk topped out at 200MHz. I'm still tweaking the DFI and have yet to break 205 bclk using the 20 multi and 211 using any other.I have benched @ 4.3GHz with though. I'm a little more conservative voltage wise than the people who have though. My one complaint and problem I guess is this board appears to need to have a collation between vdmm and vtt as eva indicated. I'm sure I'll get better clocks once I get that down. This is still a tweakers board and will become easier once more info is available. Eva has been a great help though keep it coming.

Eva, would it be possible for you to post your bios settings for your 3.8 setup, or perhaps post a link incase you already have. I should be getting my parts tomorrow to build, and I would just like somewhere to start. Thx
