I was about to ask the same question ... eva2000 ... what other X58 boards have you used? Does the DFI stand out better than any others?

DFI UT X58-T3EH8 first and only X58 i have right now so no idea on others hehe. I've lost my Asus contact so no more board samples there and Gigabyte has promised me a X58 but last I heard they don't have enough retail samples on hand.

Others who knows but DFI has definitely given me a positive first hand experience on this i7/x58 platform - virtually flawless first bios release 12/18 with a few minor fixes needed

i.e. clear cmos sets a very low 1.56v default vdimm which my Gskill PC3-12800HZ Samsung HCF0 modules didn't like to boot, but my Gskill PC3-12800HZ Micron D9JNM and Micron D9GTR based Cellshock PC3-14400 and OCZ PC3-14400 Platinum and Corsair DDR3-2133C9DF Domainator Samsung HCF0 were able to boot at 1.56v.

yeah business as usual here, probably all kickin back with plenty of beer!
would you know if Asus have officially released the Rampage II locally (by locally I mean through offical dist. channels, not import from o/s) ? My friend over at Asus has no idea seems there is no communications between any dept over there, even their Marketing dept don't seem to have any idea.

Does the DFI x58 board support Vista Sleep Mode properly, anyone test it? Seems most x58 boards have various problems with SM

Haven't heard anything about the sleep mode, but I should be getting mine next week. Once up and running, I will send a report in ...

Eva2000 - so what would the Corsair Dominator Triple Channel DDR3 1600 modules be?

I've just installed Vista 64bit SP2 beta and configuring stuff, but checked and sleep mode works

Is your Uncore speed greater than your QPI speed? I thought it needed to be lower.

Don't think i heard of such a requirement, only that optimally uncore frequency be twice that of ddram frequency nothing about QPI frequency.

    i7 920 @22x CPU Multiplier Tests

Looks like there's more uses for Intel's Turbo mode on DFI UT X58-T3EH8 especially for single threaded benchmark/apps like Super Pi. In bios set Turbo enabled, EIST enabled, Set to 1 core enabled and you have access to fixed 22x cpu multiplier

Quick Prime95 @22x134 Bclk with DDR3-1600/3200 DRAM/Uncore frequency set in bios for 6x DRAM memory multiplier.

Will test more to see how far I can push cpu and Bclk with 22x multiplier

Also flashed from intial 12/18 official bios to 12/31 beta bios for improved DDR3 memory compatibility as well as support for latest setFSB 2.1.88

    More 22x cpu multiplier results:
    • With 22x multiplier, seems max bclk in memtest is 208 bclk compared to 21x multiplier and 224 bclk
    • With 22x multiplier, max windows bootable is well below 200 bclk, I booted into windows at 190bclk and using new setFSB 2.1.88 bumped bclk to around 200-205 for max screenshot and validation. Compared to 21x multiplier and 220bclk bootable from bios into windows.

    @22x205 = 4515Mhz at 1.52v idle (vdimm = 1.875v bios)

    @22x200 = 4418Mhz at 1.52v idle (vdimm = 1.875v bios)

    Notes:
    • Seems as I disable the number of cpu cores from bios, in memtest86+ v2.11 clock for clock memory frequency bandwidth increases with the highest bandwidth with 1 single core enabled and 4 cores enabled having the lesser bandwidth numbers.
    • If this is true, then it could explain why I get a lower max bclk on 22x multiplier than with 21x as 22x uses a single core and thus higher bandwidth numbers may mean tighter internal memory latencies ? Tighter internal latencies for memory may mean same vdimm memory voltage used for memory clocks with 20-21x and lower multipliers with 4 cores enabled to get stable, might not be enough vdimm memory volts to handle the tighter latencies for single core at 22x multiplier ? I'll have to do more tests to confirm this.

Can you test some SSD-s on this board?
I heard somewhere that DFI X58 has problem with solid state drives, doubt that it's just rumor not more

Yeah, AFAIK there is no direct correlation between Uncore and QPI speeds.

I second that ... was going to get the 64GB G-Skill SSD but decided to wait because I read somewhere that that was the case as well ... but haven't yet been able to confirm that ... please, if anyone can confirm that, that would be wonderful

At 1.6v and 4.6GHz, the CPU should be around or over 300w. However, I thought the Volterra's were only rated for 280w combined. Is the limit actually higher or is this already territory stretching the board's CPU power capacity?

    no idea about Volterra's ratings...

    hehe

I tried running 3dmark06 with single HD4870x2 @750/900 stock speeds with i7 920 above on TRUE120 air @21x216blck = 4536Mhz HT enabled at 1.6v cpuz idle and I could run 3dmark06 up to CPU test 1, but CPU test 2 rebooted the system. Wprime v1.55 load temps were around 86-88C.

Maybe I'm expecting too much for air cooled i7 920 ?

Please be so kind and write a short post about pros&cons of this monster board aftes days you spend testing it
I want to be sure in it when I buy this board

honestly it's best intel board I have had in years.. out of the box it just works and oc'ing is a breeze - easiest oc'ing i've done in while once you figure out the ram side of things (basically what your ram can do and at what voltages and timings)

    only a few minor cons

    1. default vdimm after clear cmos is too low at 1.56v - hopefully DFI raises that clear cmos default vdimm a tad
    2. I want more CMOS Reloaded slots to save oc'ing profiles - ABS system in windows to backup profiles is nice, but I want more in bios profile slots as i test alot of configurations

There is a bunch of 1.5v memory out there; that could be why the default is 1.56. At stock 1066 clock, all should work at the voltage.
