In one way I find his quote funny, but in another way I find it to be rather ignorant.

I have a Q6600/P35 combo sitting in a box in my closet, as well as an E8400 and an E7200. Look in my sig for what I use as my primary gaming machine. I have no brand loyalty. I've had a few framerate stability issues with C2Q chips, even if the average framerate is higher overall. Same goes for the older A64 chips. Maybe I've just had bad luck, dunno. In gaming I actually have found the Phenom to be "smoother" in most cases, and I think that looking down on what other people find to work best for themselves is a BS attitude.

This is much along the same lines of me preferring quads over duals in Crysis because they seem to keep higher minimum framerates in action intensive scenes/explosions. I can't count how many people called my opinion BS just because their high clocked E8400 got better average framerates.

It may just be a platform stability issue (the mobos I've owned, ram issues, who knows), but I have both platforms available to me and am using the one that seems to run the best for me at the moment.

I switch systems quite often and really DO notice how some games run differently on AMD or Intel platforms, much like I can tell the difference between different GPU setups in different games even when they are of approximately equivalent power.

    Hmmm.

That said, the Phenom II really keeps up well in gaming, which is where it matters to me. I definitely will be picking one up.

He said possibly the day after tomorrow.

For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream.

Yeah, like mine. 3.2GHz at 1.45V and it is flaky sometimes.

3.2GHz on water here. Definitely not "all" can do that.

I would too, but I doubt we'll see that. If we did, we'd never hear the end of the crying, and resulting flame war that would ensue on here would be unprecedented.

If they actually did that, the PhII would get murdered...beheaded, all limbs chopped off, violated, and meatground by a tree shredder into the river.

The crying after that would be unbearable on here for weeks. We definitely don't need to see that again.

Flame baiting is fine, as long as you suck up to Intel enough.

Hmmm, worse than expected but maybe good for prices. It will likely be less than the i7 in price since it can't remotely compete. The Q9550 is the same price as the i7. Means we should see a fair price for the Phenom II of maybe around $250 and it will still be good for AM2 boards. Which means I'll happily buy the Phenom II over Intel due to prices and adaptability. This should be interesting.

na its cool with me i think hes admitting that those benchmarks are just pure intel biased benchmarks. and he is standing up for the phenom II. but then again i look at his avatar and i think to myself hmmmmmm maybe not.

the fact is that either you run intel or you don't. if you don't you get treated like crap and stepped upon just because you don't feel like spending the money or other things interest you more. somehow even though people make logical decisions when they buy parts of their computer others think they are retarded. now i have been really confused throughout this process of this cpu coming out. the amd section was nice and quiet and deneb didn't even have a name yet. then suddenly we start hearing 6 ghz deneb about 6 months ago. then the amd forum changes. suddenly im siting in there seeing that people are bashing amd out of no where. i then recognized that there are people out that that act as if their cpu is a sports team and they will root for it no matter what. so when they feel as if they have taken a blow or there is a force to be reckoned with they get angry. but sometimes they get angry enough that they feel good inside just to go somewhere to tell someone how much they suck. they refuse to believe anything good can happen and that their team will always win. but the fact that they actually go out to flame and bash others is just baffling. now i buy my cpu as a hobby. not just because i want the best. i want the one that gives me the most entertainment. and if this is wrong then so be it. but i am done hearing about all these fanboys and how much they believe amd sucks even if they have proof or not.

send me a pm if anyone finds anything that might concern me outside of the amd section because i am done with this.

Does Phenom II run faster Phenom I about 60%?
When AMD had 64-bit and Intel had only 32-bit, they tried to tell the world there was no need for 64-bit. Until they got 64-bit.
When AMD had IMC and Intel had FSB, they told the world "there is plenty of life left in the FSB" (actual quote, and yes, they had *math* to show it had more bandwidth). Until they got an IMC.
When AMD had dual core and Intel had single core, they told the world that consumers don't need multi core. Until they got dual core.
When intel was using MCM, they said it was a better solution than native dies. Until they got native dies. (To be fair, we knocked *unconnected* MCM, and still do, we never knocked MCM as a technology, so hold your flames.)

Not sure about the others but Vegas and Divx are not benchmarks but actual programs that I personally use.
