Good luck driving there (or flying) in this snow storm. My wife just called me to tell she is stranded on I-89 right now.

I had to drive back from the airport on Friday in the middle of a flogging snow storm! It took 2 hours for a trip that typically takes 30 minutes in heavy traffic. I was lucky though--90% of flights were canceled and many travelers were seeking refuge in local h(/m)otels.

    My toys:
    Asus Sabertooth X58 | Core i7-950 (D0) | CM Hyper 212+ | G.Skill Sniper LV 12GB DDR3-1600 CL9 | GeForce GTX 670-2048MB | OCZ Agility 4 512GB, WD Raptor 150GB x 3 (RAID0), WD Black 1TB x 2 (RAID0) | XFX 650W CAH9 | Lian-Li PC-9F | Win 7 Pro x86-64
    Gigabyte EX58-UD3R | Core i7-920 (D0) | Stock HSF | G.Skill Sniper LV 4GB DDR3-1600 CL9 | Radeon HD 2600 Pro 512MB | WD Caviar 80GB IDE, 4TB x 2 (RAID5) | Corsair TX750 | XClio 188AF | Win 7 Pro x86-64
    Dell Dimension 8400 | Pentium 4 530 HT (E0) | Stock HSF | 1.5GB DDR2-400 CL3 | GeForce 8800 GT 256MB | WD Caviar 160GB SATA | Stock PSU | (Broken) Stock Case | Win Vista HP x86
    Little Dot DAC_I | Little Dot MK IV | Beyerdynamic DT-880 Premium (600 Ω) | TEAC AG-H300 MkIII | Polk Audio Monitor 5 Series 2's

    I really might go...

Just need to decide between a $100, 8 hour drive, or a $180 1.5 hour flight. Then decide If I want to get a hotel room etc...

    Grr.

at this point most of the major hotels will be booked. You could try downtown (old vegas) or find something like a marriot etc nearby. There's some hotels 4 miles south down lv blvd.

hey will using a badge from last year be an issue getting in and out of CES?

    -Liquid nitrogen
    -Lovely (single) ladies
    -Food
    -Booze
    -Music

That's the components of a good party for computer *nerds*. Lucky enough, we bring 3-4 of those with us. Just make sure Intel, AMD, and Gigabyte bring more booth babes--we'll be fine!

By the way--I'll see about total expense. Any WCG'ers want to room with me?
yeah.. I totally understand that's pretty much every guy needs to see at a party... :-)

What makes me a bit nervous is to speak to people I have never met before, I am so glad that I have this opportunity to know more about this community.. but still, it's challenging for me to host such a big event...:-P
    I'll do my best :-)

So long as you stick to the weight limit (pffft - im always 30kg+) there cant be any problems (unless amercians think that PC's are dangerous too now? :P)

@ Jasmine, im sure you will do well and you have the full support of the community, so no need for nerves!

    Jasmine;
The people who will be there will be as friends that haven't seen one another in a long time not a meeting of strangers.
Not a thing to be concerned about.
We will have a great time!

Remember, LN2 cannot be taken aboard an airplane in the U.S. unless it is carried in a container under 3 fl. oz.

I have to bow out of my invite unfortunately... as I need to be more financially responsible right now after moving and using that money that I would go on to be put towards a good use will be better in the long run... Damn I hate being responsible
