When it comes to this coold boot issue, that's something I've experienced with my Asus P5N32-E Sli nForce680i motherboard, my Asus Striker Extreme motherboard, don't think I had it with my P5Q-Deluxe though?

Anyway, this seems to be a Asus issue and not a motherboard issue in my opinion and is a real pain in the arse!

If that coold boot issue will start to haunt me, I will just keep my Rampage II Extreme until the Foxconn BloodRage, DFI LanParty UT x58 or something arrives and get good reviews, and then I'll simply RMA it and replace it
