I have a DDC-1TP pump with manufacturing date 06/05.
Anyone have a clue if I could do the 18w mod on this?
This is the mod I wanted to do: link
I opened up my pump and the impeller looks black not bright blue... I'm assuming I'll kill it if I try to do the mod?

One Question: Has anybody modded a DDC top with a large intake room with clear acrylic .. so that when the pump runs .. it'll have a swirling vortex on top? Something like Koolance ones but with a bigger room like a semi reservior
So, after reviewing the various pumps on Martin's Liquid Lab, I have come under the impression that at 12V the DDC-3.2 is the best pump for PC water cooling and the Iwaki MD(?)-30 is the best for 18V. Is this census amongst users here at XS? Also, am I correct in understanding that the DDC-1T+ is the same as the DDC-3.2?
No, i made this thread before the ddc3.1\3.2 was available.
You can see i updated the op with a german link when the 3.1\3.2 came..

Two things, first I can't read or speak german. Two, I have checked the link and all I saw was how to convert the 10W pump into the 18W pump by useing a solder ball to connect the last unused terminal pad to the one next to it.
Edit: I found Laing's website and saw that they are calling the latest version the 3.1 and 3.2 series of pumps. Some sites had me confused saying the new revision with the blue rotor was called the 1T and 1Tplus.

My point wasnt to make u go looking at the german link...
Anyways... DDC 3.1\3.2 is 3.1\3.2... that is what they are called. all the others is the older ones.

Actually, Laing USA does not use the same naming convention (they use 3.1/3.2) as Laing Europe (they also don't get along with each other the last time I heard). DDC1+ Ultra= 18W (or 3.2), DDC-1T Pro= 10W (or 3.1). I've seen some shops that have typo's in the listing headers (like Aqua-PC's) so look through the pump specs carefully to make sure which it is.

If your annoyed by sigs telling you to put things in your sig, then put this in your sig
Bribery won't work on me...just say NO to AT!!!
As I said before I did check it and it never explained the naming, only that the impeller in both versions was now blue. It then delved into how to modify the 10W pump into its more powerful 18W brother.
That would explain ALOT for why I saw the confusing names on European based websites. The primary Laing Corporate HQ needs to slap their subdivisions down and issue a standard product naming policy for use world wide.![]()
