It's a good read. btw that 8:9 ratio is in reality .888333 and not .888889.

This is for the 920i. I'm not sure how it translates to the other processors.

    I was unable to get 200 x 20 or 200 x 21 stable because I was using 8x mem and either 16 or 17x uncore with Qpi 36x

Remember one thing, uncore multi needs to be at least 2x memory multi.

The ratio between uncore to Qpi was about .888889 which more than the .888333 allowed.

The Qpi frequency seems to max out at 4 GHz, so the way I stabilized at 200 x 21 was to lower memory to 6x, lower uncore to 15x. That lowered my uncore to QPI ratio to .833333 which is lower than the .888333.

That kept my qpi freq. at 3600Mhz which is under the 4000MHz ceiling.

This seems to be the limitations

What we need is for the MB companies to unlock a 40X QPI mult, as well as odd numbered memory multipliers.

All that being said, I think that some people may have been able to get that stable using 36x 16x 8x, but that is more the exception than the rule.

I am impressed, gigabyte is pushing out bios files faster than Asus for a change. Hopefully they are fixing stuff, and not just releasing random bios files.

They are the same exact board, except for the NB cooling, it should work without any issues.

Why do TT list different bios versions for the 2 boards?

    With 140 BCLK, I can run 1700 CAS8 with 12GB of CSX DDR3-1600 ram and 1,45V QPI/VTT.
With 170 BCLK I need to lower the ram mult to run at 1320 or increase QPI/VTT voltage.

It is possible to run even more than 1700Mhz with 12GB, if you had a 965 you could push it by leaving BCLK at stock and OCing via multiplier.

i am on f4n now, and for the last 2 hours ive been trying to get stable @ 4ghz and 4.1ghz with turbo on HT on, but i cant , i think it wants more voltage than what i needed for f4k,

    also another thing i noticed,

cpu clock drive 700mv default on f4n
pci e clock drive 700mv default on f4n

on f4k cpu clock drive 800mv default
    pci e clock drive 900mv

is there a reason for this ?
ive tried to change it to like the f4k was but still no good think it just wants more vcore and qpi/vtt v

i'll try for a bit more then im going back to f4k
