    I think my pump is dead..

    I am looking directly into my case right now, and my reservoir has no movement what so ever.

    I noticed yesterday that my temps were unusual, and above normal so i checked my bios and the temp was around 63 degrees Celsius.

    I attached the 4 pin on the pump to another 4 pin on the power supply and it worked just fine.

    Just today i looked into my case and i see no movement at all in the reservoir, and i cannot hear my pump.

    I have the Laing D5 Basic/Swiftech MCP655-B Inline 12V DCPump.

    Is there anything i should do to make sure my pump is working correctly?

    There is an update actually..

    So i plugged my pump into the new 4 pin, waited about 1 minute and it started up again, so far it has been on ever since.

    Going to try plugging the pump back into the original 4 pins on the motherboard and see what happens.

    Interesting...as long as it's working, problem solved. If you want to test it I would suggest making sure the pins aren't loose in the molex connector and maybe try plugging it in to another PSU. Also, what do you mean "the original 4 pins on the motherboard and see what happens."? Do you mean PSU instead of motherboard?

    I meant the power supply, sorry about the confusion haha.

    And i was actually going to edit my last statement, i plugged the molex connecter from the pump to the original molex connector I had it in, and it works just fine.

    I checked to make sure the molex connector on the pump is fine and doesn't cause any issue, as well as the molex connector's on the power supply.

    The pump didn't cut at all when i moved the wires around.

    I agree with the tightening of the pins in the molex itself. One of my fans does this as well, it can cut in and out because of a loose connection between the male and female ends. Try possibly adding a slight bend to the pin or make the female molex fit tighter.

    I suggest test the pump a bit more. You wouldn't want to risk the pump dying at the middle of operation, and jeopardize your whole system.

    The same thing keeps happening, where the pump doesn't start up once the computer is turned on.

    The pump eventually starts up when i start changing out molex connections on the power supply.

    I made sure the male and female pins are hitting each other just fine, and they are.

    I will probably buy a new pump from petra to see if it is my pump that is really causing the issue, and not the molex connector on the pump.

    Any last suggestions before i go out to buy my new pump?

    I've seen this before, turned out to be in my case a whack PSU.

    why would you power the pump from the motherboard fan headers? I can understand for the mcp350 but even the mcp355 is kind of much for the fan headers

    He didn't if you read the thread, he made a mistake by saying that but it is not what he actually did, he only powered the pump from a molex from the PSU.

    Try using a fan to test each molex from your PSU that your using to make sure it isn't your PSU. You can also try using a voltmeter to test the molex to make sure the line isn't fluctuating or off.
