@all
Thanks, I tried to stay true to the Antec/XFX theme.

@seismicshift
very beautiful indeed.
I am going to be drilling some holes soon so what kind of grommets should I get to fill the holes so they don't kill my wires?
Ones that fit the holes you drill are usually the best kind
But seriously, if you are making round holes you can find rubber grommets at McMaster-Carr. Just type 'Rubber Grommet' in the search field.
If you want to make anything other than just round holes, you can get edge molding from lots of case mod suppliers like Performance PC's or Frozen CPU.
Most of the time, you really don't have to worry about it all that much if you take the time to file the edges smooth after you cut/drill the holes. Lots of people use electrical tape folded over the edges or small diameter vacuum hose from an auto parts store that has been slit down one side with a razor blade.
Hello all
My picture is ghetto at best lol, took it with a cell phone, anyways that was just to show you i am ready to begin the install..
I do want to ask you a few things before I start. Thanks...
Items I have to install
Mobo: EVGA 780i SLI
Cpu: Intel E8400
Memory: Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 4GB (2GBx2)
Video Cards: EVGA 7600 GTS x2
PSU: Antec 1000W
Case: Antec 900
HDD: Seagate SATA 500GB (Going to Setup in RAID 0)
DVDR: Slim Line, Slot Load Panasonic UJ-85 (i think thats the model), It has the SATA connector
CPU Cooler: Xigmatek HDT-S1238 With Retention Clip /bracket
Ok, so my questions are,
If I am going to only use the 3.5" Bays Since I have the slot load dvd-rw being mounted on the bottom, Is there a way I can still use the "Fan" from the 5.25" bay?
Basically i dont see the need of adding the whole 5.25" bay to the case if I am not going to use it, however I do want to use ALL the fans I can. and i for sure want the THREE front fans to be there so it looks awsome too.
Well i hope I explained that simply enough., Thanks all this site is the best for sure.. Take Care![]()
Hello everyne...
I recently purchased an Antec 900 after doing some research. I spent a lot of time on this forum reading all the posts so I could learn what basic mods to try and do plus how I could configure the case. Previosuly I had a Dell Inspiron 531 that was running too hot with an BFG 8800 GT OC card and I decided to swap out the case.
I was able to score a 900 case from NewEgg for $59 with free shipping during their Black Friday weekend. Great deal!
I have worked with PC's before but never done any mods or anything. In my case I did not do too much but thought it came out pretty good.
First - I decided to spray paint the metal in the case. I ended up using a good engine spray paint in the Ford Dark Blue color. To prepare the case I stripped it down, tapes up the black sections, did some sanding\wetsanding and then cleaned with a tack cloth. I then hit it with a few coats of Etch Primer, let it dry then did a bunch of light coats with the paint. The dark blue looks pretty nice with the black color and in the pictures it looks a bit brigher with the flash and the real color is a very dark, almost purple, looking blue. This was my first paint job but I took my time and it is very clean looking.
Originally I thought I might need to Dremel the case for some basic cable management. I ended up with a "new" model Antec 900 that had some pre-drilled motherboard holes. They worked fine for me but I probably could stand for some cutting to get even better cable routing.
I put the whole thing back together and install two additional Yate Loon(spelling?) fans I got for pretty cheap. With all the fans and open space the thing runs VERY cool now. I also like the look of the color against the black.
Just this week I purchased a ZeroTherm VGA fan for the 8800 GT card. It is not pictured but I installed using all the new space I have below the card. It eats up a lot of slots but not with that plus the fans my card runs in the high 30's C when it used to hit the high 60's C.
Anyway...nothing to special here but I wanted to post some pics and thank everyone for the great thread that inspired me to get this case and do some work on it. I am much happier leaving the nice looking yet cramped Dell case behind!![]()
How do I get the front fans off? I have some new ones I need to put in but can not figure out how to get the old ones off.
Wow, nevermind I feel dumb did not see the black tabs that connect to the cage.

sorry guys ive just dumped my 900 for a CM HAF 932
i'm sure alot of you can understand its too small for a 3x120 radiator. with the HAF 932 i can put the radiator inside with no modding at all. would've gone with the 1200 but i didn't like the look of the top. i wish they would have kept it the same as the 900 top. it is so much nicer when installing hard drives.
Only an observation, knissel, but working from the inside of the Case, seems a little awkward and restrictive, especially when using 'corded' power tools, and you have free and easy access to the other side of the panel.
In addition, your Case wouldn't fill up with quite so many 'iron filings' from the Dremmel cutting.
More importantly, I would hate to see you appear on YouTube with only one eye !
If you have ever had a ' cut-off ' wheel, shatter, at speed, you will know exactly what I'm getting at.
I'm just hoping no beginners follow your ' Dremmel Skillz ' to the letter, and also omit eye protection.
(Hope you don't mind me pointing it out, if you've already thought of it).
Cheers

No I really thank you for your advice. I did want to cut from the outside because I wound up having to clean all the metal shavings out later... That was really the first time I had ever used a dremel. Since I'm so hardcore and such a bad ass thug I of course don't need protective goggles because my eyes are made of steel.
