Hey ,,TITAN,,your running a 4850x2.. Did you Know that Raising the PCI-E lane watts to 200 will let you Overclock the 4850x2 to its max and keep it stable..

It will also take Stress off the CPU because the 4850x2 uses 290 to 300 watts when clocked or running full tilt..75watts on the Pci-E lane dosnt work good for X2series GX2series or GTX260/280..Ive testted this many time with friends cards that ive tweaked for them.

In the Bios the PCI-E setting Menu to enable Multi graphics Press F4 and #2 and #10 are the PCI-e lanes that are 16x slots ..

Set to AUTONONIMOUS and 16x and 200 for #2 and #10 it may be elen ..All other slots keep on Auto...My 3870x2 uses 255 to get 920/2200 on Air while @3.52ghz

I just installed a GTX260 that didnt like to run @3.5ghzcpu..The problem was the PCI-E lane Did not have enuff watts to let it run while my CPU was taking all the power...So again i changed the 16x lanes from 75(75watts) to 200(200watts)

Walla My GTX is now Stable @ 3.52ghzCPU ...

I forgot about Raising the PCI-E lane watts when the CPU goes above 3.4ghz .

this is the Same way i was able to overclock SB600 @3.5 with 3870x2 and 8800GTS(G92)@950/2300/2300.. When you dont have enuff Watts on the PCI-e lane the Card will shut you down after a while or you wont have Driver stability while trying to Overclock HIGH.

Last About the Cold weather and wierd OC.. set your VDD to max 2.8v and use at least 1.5v for both CPU and NB.. Only Raise the CPU Above 1.5v with out ACC.. it should keep the CPU warm enuff to Hit 3.5 but cold enuff to stay stable..The extra Cold Needs Volts for Phenom NB so it dosnt stay too cold..

I.. Usually use less volts with Cold which usually is better but , phenom is odd to oc with cold. Im amazed how Phenom actually Likes some type of heat even when Cold..

I hope you get that 3.5ghz-3.6ghz+ your looking for..

Hmm ya Know it works warm,, So i suspect you need more heat in the Kitchen to thaw @boot..making the NB1.5 will be like a EngineBlanket.. it should keep CPU warm but not too cold while it is Outdoors..
hey thanks for the info, one thing that I noticed is I was overclocking the 4850X2 yesterday with AMD gpu clock tool and I was actually getting lower scores as I passed my overclocks that I was doing in CCC. In CCC i got the gpu cores to 700mhz so I figured out how to use AMDgputool (had to run it as administrator) and first oc to 715mhz then 725 mhz but my score was going down instead of up! So I gave up and stopped. Is the voltage the cause?? As for wattage is that total system power or just the GC?? now you got to know how bad my HD2900XT had to be and they say it pulled 315+ while benchmarking load and I never had a problem.

Ill try it out though as Im a high voltage kind of guy
