The E0 Q9550 SLB9V thread (finally!)

Hello everyone! I have one question fo you. I wan't to buy a new Q9550 E0, аnd the only Q9550 they have in the shop has a batch L835B100 аnd this 4 numbers: 4A2500 and of couse it is E0, so should i buy it or look for another one? Is it gonna be ok with overcloking?

There's nobody in entire world can tell you if the cpu you are refering to will be a uber-overclocker or not. It all has to do with your luck. If you are lucky enough, you'd get a uber-overclocker.

p.s. but I do like the sound of the batch # L835B100.

Which would you guys choose between L830B421 and L835B078? I know it's a crapshoot, each chip is different, but basically I'm looking to run at a given speed with the lowest volts to produce the lowest heat. (Aren't we all?) There's only one L830B result which is in this thread, at pretty low load volts for 4.05GHz, there's a few results for L835B and they seem to take a touch more voltage but there's more data and they're pretty consistent. This is for a DFI LP JR P45 in a smaller case, limitin my cooling options which is why I'm asking.

So, any strong gut feelings, or should I just flip a coin?

But i bought another one L825B*** and core temp shows vid 1,1V. At stock the vcore is 0,96-1,03V

batch l827b235, pack date 9/18/08, vid 1.22v. 4100, (483*8.5) 1.33vcore, 1.44 vtt, air. idle 20c, load 54c. could not get a stable overclock with dfi lp ut p45, so i got an asus (!!). cant get over this at any vcore/vtt so i am thinking that there is fsb hole/wall on board or chip. i have fooled around little with gtl, but not much.

It might be reading the VID differently since it's at idle and Speedstepped down. Try loading it with P95 to double check the VID if you're interested.

Finally got my stable @ 3.7 Won't shoot for 4.0Ghz+ till I get my 4870x2 and my NB waterblock. Gonna try to keep lowering the voltages to see what I can achieve. Currently it's at 1.25vCore, 1.29 NB, 1.3 VTT. 3D stable

I doubt it.. from the readings of my Q9550 I think it's more realistic to use 95c or even 90c. There may even exist the chip-to-chip variance so I think everyone should find their own Tj Max value... Intel just screwed up on the 45nm chips.

I got a bugged core I think. Running OCCt now and my cores are reading: 42-46-26-48
When I run core temp and minimize it, it only shows 3 core temps in toolbar, yet Task Manage shows all 4 cores at 100%
Any ideas?

Mines not an E0 but still a pretty good chip for being a C1. I think there may be a little more in it, but this is the highest oc ive got so far and this was on blend.
