    tried 3510 controller with 64K and 128K and 256K blocks ? i found 128/256K blocks much better for 4x32GB SSD raid 0 http://i4memory.com/98302-post4.html

    Speed junky are we
But damn, Adaptec needs to tune their cards more just like you said. I mean, the 1231ML is like really old tech compared to the 5805.. It shouldn't be that much faster. Not even with 2Gb cache in it.

hey can you bench the onboard hardware raid controller on GB board just for kicks

i would love to see what it does

i am absolutely shocked at these figures particular that 230K HDD score

    lol yeh a bit lol

the 5805 should perform exactly as the 1231 @ 4x

    1x @ arc1210 = 188MB/s

    188 x 4 = 752MB/s

and thats what the 1231 is doing.. but 5805 nowhere near

5805 just needs full/more ssd support.. and whatever tuning/tweaking

hard to believe a dualcore 1.2ghz maxes out @ just above 600MB/s

great specs.. but what good does it do if they dont include full support for ssds.. should be faster than the 1231

    you mean 1GB cache ??

the 231k is from the cache + 4x

78634 is the first run.. then it all ran from cache but its not just the cache alone

    sure will post 1GB cache..

lol so youre satisfied with 483MB/s ? hmm..

4x ocz core should perform at no less than 572MB/s no reason it shouldnt unless no full support

well the ocz core v1 on onboard controllers do around 120-130MB/s so 4x would be 480-520MB/s so well within margins.. maybe if i had more than 256MB cache on 3520LF or if i had faster SSDs would be better ?

V2 will do 572 (~576), V1 will not. And you dont actually have 700+mb/s anything with 4 drives, the benchmarks are getting fooled by the extreme cache, pcmark especially. The real speeds of the 5805 and the arc1231 are the same.

dont let the cache fool you.. certainly doesnt fool me.. within 2GB thats the performance i get.. past 2GB read about the same.. write probably @ 700MB/s

    heres 4x @ 1231

    ssds are not hdds

if controller sports full support/functions no reason if 1x @ 150MB/s why 4x shouldnt do 600MB/s

    6x @ hrr3520 256MB = 777MB/s
    6x @ asr5805 512MB = 637MB/s

how you explain that One_Hertz?? hmm?
