That's because Pentium D was such utter to begin with that it seemed like such a huge jump. This thing actually provides the same performance jump in many benchmarks, but obviously not all of them..

I knew it is same the BCKL, but this is mainstream CPU, mainstream CPUs always have lower multi then high end CPUs. This ES have default 16 multi. So if new the i5 CPUs will have 20, 22, 24 and higher multi, that will be excellently for the overclock.

Only in the past. And you had that due to different FSB speeds (800, 1066, 1333, 1600). Now its all the same BCLK. No 80Mhz BLCK, 106Mhz BLCK, 133BLCK, 160Mhz BLCK etc.

I expect i5 to peak at 2.80Ghz or so. Maybe 2.93Ghz if lucky. And then else down in 133Mhz increments. Maybe as low as 2.00 or 2.13Ghz.

At the beginning it was 1160, but Intel made some changes and it is 1156 now. If you have seen 1160 in a recent article is because the autor is misinformed or something.

Deneb will be the new top of the line from AMD, the i5 is a downgrade from what is already out, the i7. That is the difference here.

Not exactly - certain A0 samples (which this one actually is) were 1160-pin. All later parts will be 1156.
