Did a clean install of Windows, then installed all the drivers off the CD. Still no dice. I would think if the sound device was fried, it would at least allow drivers to install, but then just not function. Instead, its not being visible at all in Windows...

your system is asking for this to be installed(driver) to work

anyway of removing the 4870 and insert some other type video card just to see if the 4870 is cutting out the board sound card because of IRQ conflicts?

I always install my video card drivers last
