A little update of the theme. It seems that Phenom II won't suffer from the ACC bug and will be fully competitive on SB600 boards. Arguement. I don't care about the conditions, the results are significant .
P.S. That is confirmed only for the BE processors. I have no information about the FSB clock and how will the SB600 clock PII 920.

That is great to hear, I hope your right. I would love to re-use my DQ6 and DS5 boards

    Is that on air/water?

Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

    I've written, I don't know and don't care about the conditions .
P.S. Maybe I should have written "confirmed" instead of confirmed

great, if this confirms my dfi will kick ass (also I still have a m3a32-mvp deluxe wifi boxed to sell, it's been quite hard to sell it, but I think that when deneb comes out people will be fighting to get it, I think it's the 2nd best am2+ mobo around and it's getting harder to get one of those this days)

Would be cool to use SB600's again however I doubt it.

Dragon is actually 790xX/SB750, Phenom II and HD4xxx series On the otherhand it makes a bit of sense as well since SB750 simply replaces SB600, would be stupid to start producing them en masse again. I think I'd stick to SB750, now I only got to find a board which does not feature a crap lay-out stopping me from installing TR HR05's and HR09's on every chip I can find

they are already working on the SB800/850 chipset, I don't think they are going back to the SB600.....however, for those that currently have only a SB600, it would seem prudent to wait and get a Phenom II, try it FIRST, and save some hard earned until the dust settles....

at least that is what I am doing at first......

I haven't said that the new amd users should buy an SB600 board, but if you already have one you'll be happy to use it with the new CPUs. BTW the new chipsets will be ready H2 09 or June, so there is a lot of time.

Why are you always flooding so much... I can't understand you. If you have something to say in common with the thread's topic, ok do it, but to post what you would probably do if something happens is totally stupid.

Now it's almost 100% confirmed that PII won't suffer from the ACC and there will be only slight difference in the OC potential between SB600 and SB750.

You can look in the thread of Team Finland and their L2N tests with 940BE and especially this post in addition to the screen several posts above.
P.S. I think on water 4.5GHz are not only a dream for 24/7 . I really hope that the new PII will be so great for OC like the ES that were given up to this date to the press and was shown on presentations.

Well I sure as hell didnt get my money's worth out of my Gigabyte DQ6/DS5 boards with Phenom 1 so I would feel alot better if I could get a few good months use with phenom II in them.

    I can only agree!

VRMs on DQ-6 are simply amazing, so power wall shouldn't be a problem for us

Any word on the SB700? I have the Biostar T780G M2+ board with the SB700. Just wondering if I'll have any issues with the PII....

Something came on my mind when I was reading the last post. There is a possibility that the "old" 790FX boards clock PII better than the 790GX boards because of the better PCB and power design.
