I've recently Joined and got a Q9650.. it stays decently cool. but I'm having problems with it now. It was good the first mount. I shoulda left it alone. but I wanted to try AS5 instead of the crap I used. So I got it. and Now I've yet to get it back as good as before. Not sure why. I've tried different directions for seating the Tuniq, I've tried the same old TIM. not sure.. I'm thinkin I might order the TRUE sometime this week.
anyways I'm not sure if this is just a thread to show your results. but if you're sending people ICD7 for testing. I'd be happy to try it with full pictures.. Screeny's and whatever else. I'm not impressed with the AS5 so far. It's been only 3 days though. Originally I used Antec Formula 5. Same ingredients as AS5. but lighter in color. I think it might be better though. lol.
I'd love to try this new ICD7 out. I've heard Diamond Paste is the new stuff to recommend.

Well you could always buy a tube... I will be starting a new round of beta tests/giveaways on some other forums over the next month on some other forums and will try to remember to post notice here.

I added OCAU to the overall to see what it would look like. With the 160 user tests graphics are getting a little scrunched I will have to figure another way to format it.

Thanks tasty for keeping us updated!
Where is it available for purchase? With Mithril going for the gemstones and precious metals look, this would be perfect!

Just wanted to let you know that the Nehalem rig at 3733mhz with a TRUE and your TIM is holding at 60C in a 72F room at 100% load 24/7
Much better than I see some of the others doing for temps on air.
The harpertown rig, dual socket,8 core @ 3600, is holding at 51C on air at 100% load.
Great product![]()

Since I did not have better luck with the 7carat version I would be willing to try the 24carat version if supplied with samples. I have several test benches now so processor change outs is much easier to do.

Will share my temps with EK Supreme and quad rad. once everything is in place.
Is 1 big chunk in the middle of the IHS still the preferred way of applying this paste?

I have one Q6600 rig that is running hotter than normal, I need to pull the WB and check the mount. I might give the 7C a try again.

Happy new Year all,
Final results. OCAU of the 44 who tested Approximately 80% saw a positive result with an overall average improvement of 3.28C. The 20% who did not from our previous Contact and Pressure testing 80% of the 20% were resolved to be a contact or pressure issue that inhibited optimal results.
All in all a pretty good test run and line up well with the total group averages from the other forums.

Well I redid the Q6600 mentioned above with D7 and across the cores I saw a 1c improvement. The mount from the MX-2 looked very good with even TIM distribution. Since it is a FuZion v1 the mounting pressure is very consistent between mounts.
I wonder how much better the temps would be with the higher carat blend?

SiG, IIRC, the "higher carat" tube you are talking about is the exact same density paste, just more of it in a bigger tube. I guess you get about 7 carats worth in the little tubes we tested with, and a bit over three times more in the "24 carat" tube. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.
Good to see you saw a difference. I'm a believer in the stuff and it is the only paste I'm using on the farm now. It has held up very well over the months that I've had the mounts from the test. I find it easy to get a good mount with, and very reliable over time. That's what I want. If the temps drop, that's just "sauce for the goose".
I put some D7 on an overclocked eVGA GTX260-216 card that I threw a water block on. Between all of that, it dropped the loaded GPUGrid temps by 30C. I about fell out of the chair....
Regards,
Bob
