Thx, but, I live in Australia. Last time I checked New Egg didn't ship too Australia and when I convert it its not that much cheaper then I can get it here. Plus the postage would be lots.

Fair enough but your DFI's can't even do that, no intel board can. You need at least 555 FSB & DDR2 - 1333 MHz (perhaps slightly lower depends on board) to break 12K read, write and copy. I have never seen 12K broken at only DDR2 - 1300 MHz on any intel board. If you have any screens to prove me wrong I'd love to see them.

    lets see it

Lets see your screen shots of breaking 12,000 ? would love to see it. I think you have one in the g.skill 9600 thread ? Just checked the g.skill thread zsasm did break 12,000 on his dfi ut 35, so it can be done, but was with like 560 fsb ,1360 mgz.

What do u guys think of this

    1300MHz 5-5-5-15 W/ 2.21v.

    Stock is 1066MHz 5-5-5-15 W/ 2.3v. At 1066MHz I run 2.0v.

Yer that was only 1 stick. My other stick needs 2.25v or so. I'll try dual channel later.

The point i was trying to make is, you can't break 12K everest on an intel board with only 1300 Mhz. szams_ stated that if a board could not do that, it was so I'd like to see some evidence of a board actually being able to do so. I have yet to see it.

As I pointed out above, you need very close to 555 FSB and DDR2-1333 to break 12K.

If no board can do 12K on DDR2-1300, are we supposed to think all boards are crap, and subsequently not buy any of them? I don't think so.

    well said

I agree with you, doesnt matter anyway, you cant run a board that high 24/7 anyways. I did find a setting on my board that has standard, turbo, extreme, when i set it to extreme, it does boost my score 325 points, have to find out what that setting is doing.

It is most likely tightening certain chipset timings, giving greater bandwidth. It may also have decreased the latency somewhat. Now with that enabled, you may need more vNB (vMCH) to stabilize it, but you can't be far off my bandwidth on an Asus board now. Run another SPI32M at the same settings as before, but this time with it set to 'extreme' to see what you have gained in more real terms.

    ok

Well the guy on the tweaktown gigabyte forum, this guys knows everything there is about gigabytes, told me not to run it on extreme, that it is over riding my settings, im better on auto, that my settings and timings must not be tight enough, but believe me there as tight as tight can be, so i cant exsplain why it works, but it does, i will super pi again, see if makes a difference, thanks for the help.

Gigabyte EP45 Extreme aint bad for everest bandwidth just super pi 32m is probably around 5-15 seconds slower than what i'm use to on DFI/Asus P35/X38/X48

    thanks

Thanks for the post eva, those are very good scores, and your on a pl 9, hmm makes me wonder about my board, but those look very good. Does that gigabyte ep45 extreme have a standard, turbo, extreme setting in the bios ? and if it does, which one do you run it on ? thanks.

I've seen your pics of breaking 12K before. you are missing the point.

    What you said was

You have not shown a board breaking 12K at DDR2-1300 at all. You have proven what I said to be true, which was that in fact you need ~555 FSB and DDR2-1333.

Your first screen shows 556 FSB & DDR2-1333, and it just barely got over 12K, you second pic shows 565 FSB and DDR2-1357.

I said I wanted proof that an intel board could break 12K at DDR2-1300, as you said if a board can't do that it's no good.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not having a go at you at all, you just stated something that was blatantly incorrect, and when I asked for evidence, you posted SS's that proved what I said to be correct, not what you said to be correct.

As you guys may know, for everest bandwidth cpu raw clock speed also matters as well

neo, EP45-Extreme has Performance enhance options which i leave on Standard as others didn't really do much for me

    i wanna see a ud3p break 11k under 520fsb
dfi can do it around 505
funny to me intel bringin out the p45 when its not faster than p35 its all about da $$
the only p45 i seen that equals the ut-p35 is the ut-p45 but all dfi suk with 500fsb quads but i dont care since i not goin quad before 6 months
to be honst cryptik i was gonna try out the ud3p since its so cheap but its slow n after nugzo fried his cpu n ram with the board
but i rather boycott gigabut rip all the d9 it killed

EP45-Extreme has very similar performance to my Maximus II Formula.

Everest at 534 FSB, 640 MHz (chipset not totally maxed out)

Here's something else for you to compare your board to Neo Mike:

    SPI32M @ 500 FSB, 600 MHz @ 2.0v real

    Benches at DDR2-1300 @ 2.20v real:

Everest at DDR2-1300 MHz @ 2.20v real dual channel

    SPI1M at DDR2-1300 MHz @ 2.20v real dual channel

What is the real sense of achievement those 11 and 12k READ? Can you feel the difference between 10500 and 11\12k? We must find the max STABLE MHz when we can pass Win Memtest 3.8.
    Imho.
