Wow. Just a super cherry chip or was its thermal diode modified?
Anyway, Charles will definitely crack the 6GHz barrier soon.![]()
Is this a retail chip or ES? Does this chip have the special mods that only Intel can do? I'm assuming these are retail binned chips with no mods...
Now that is XTREME!![]()

Like we believe that, we all know Fugger is intel's puppet, he says what they pay him to say, how can you prove it's unmodded? and why hide the stepping/revision?Originally Posted by FUGGER
It's all marketing, your average retail chip will never reach these speeds.
My money says (ES).
I sincerely hope this is a retail chip with a new stepping/revision! If so, we'll be having some good times when they are released. If not, Intel's a b*tch for showing us these results![]()
It's not a retail chip as far as I know. They are super cherry picked cream of the crop samples.

hahahahaGod I love it! This is outstanding!
...err, I mean the OC'ing Fugger did...not the fanboi that got kicked out.
Fugger, do you ever sell good cpu's like this? if you do PMME i will pick one up!
Also a question for you guys who know most about the Core i7, any word on Loadline Calibration, some were saying 45NM cpu's from intel die from it, is this true for i7???

Very nice speed aircooled fugger, can you explain why youre efficienty of pi sucks that hard? i have the almost the same score 8.625 at 4740 mhz (also aircooled b.t.w) max frequency 4800+
My memory and qpi were at lowest ratios to rule out those factors, I was going for 5Ghz and made short work of it. I did not spend much time on air for each chip, this was the first one tested and it was semi decent. Best of all, its on HD video.
Northwood doesnt bother me, he has been here forever.
