Funnily enough, right now I'm experiencing the same problems. A couple of days ago I could change clocksettings for the FSB en MEM, but right now it doesn't want to remember them. I have the latest BIOS. Previously I already had problems with changing memorytimings, when my cpu was at stockspeed. It didn't change them. However, when I changed the CPU speed, the memorytimings I selected were used as well. I really don't understand how such a thing can happen. How hard can it be?

    Btw, hardware used:
    Xeon X3350, 4x2GB Corsair C4DHX RAM, 2x MSI 8800GT zilent OC.

I have Ntune installed but wouldnt that only effect me if i booted to windows? when i boot and go into the bios and change it/save and exit it should show up on the start up but it doesnt so i go back in to the bios before it boots to vista and it shows all stock FSB's but my volt changes get saved.

i am about to switch board if i cant get this fixed, I just bought my new ram and because the damn setting wont save i cant get it up to 1066 or any where between 800 and 1066.

this has happened to me before but then it just started working again. i dont understand why !!!

Unfortunately the inOS updater has not yet been removed. It never worked right a screwed up a lot.

Unplug power and pull battery for overnight. Cycle the power switch a number of times after you have removed the battery.

About the same happened to me. I had it overclocked but there were some stability issues, so I wanted to set it a bit lower, but still overclocked. But then it went back to default speeds and didn't want to change whatsoever....

    Ok, just trying to help.

When you flashed, did you follow this procedure?
1- Prior to flash, set all settings to default. Save and exit.
    2- flash
    3- reboot
4- (Important) Enter bios, make no changes, save and exit
5- enter bios and change settings as desired

Also, you must never use saved profiles from a previous bios.

i did not use saved profiles. after i flashed the bios I left in on normal setting for a few boots. 1 or 2 days. (vista updating crap) then i went in and overclocked and made it to 3.75 no problem and was good for a few days, then i tried to move the FSB up some more (trying to get to 4ghz) and then saved and exited, but when it booted my ram and FSB went back to the normal setting with out any overclocking

now it wont save any changes to the FSB or ram. i tried alot of combos but nothin will save.

    its fustrating

Maybe ill reflash the bios when i get home today. and double check that i didnt do something wrong.

well i got a message back from asus and this is what they said to do:
Try breaking the system down to bare minimums, IE CPU, 1 stick of RAM closest to the CPU, VGA card and power. Then try changing settings. If problem continues and you have latest BIOS please contact RMA for repair by calling 510-739-3777 opt. 2.
If i have to RMA its going to suck taking all my LCing out too, but i guess it give me a chance to upgrade the system.
Ill try that later tomorrow as i have to go back to work tonight. GO army damnit lol.

hey i had the same problem and i was able to fix it by doing:

    1. Removing power from the power supply to the board (ensure green LED is out on board).

    2. Remove CMOS Battery (Nickel shaped battery on motherboard).

    3. Move CLRTC jumper over to 2nd and 3rd jumper from the 1st and 2nd.

    4. Wait approx. 1 to 2 minutes.

    5. Reset jumper, replace battery and reapply power.

    6. Turn unit on to see if you get video.

And make sure your not using anymore the 2GBs on a newly installed Vista until you get sp1 or it may not start. (i had that problem)
and if this doesnt work you may have to RMA it again

Nice one! Because of that problem, I had to put D-Tek blocks on my videocard, instead of the Zalman aircooling which came standard with my 8800GT (MSI Zilent OC model)

funk32: I think this answers your question as well. So yeah, I'm watercooled. Sending my board back to Asus might be troublesome because of that (not in it's original state anymore).
So you managed to let it remember the settings you entered with that little trick huh? I have 1602 a.t.m. I was planning on upgrading to 1802, but I see a lot of people in here who have severe problems with that... I think I'll try flashing to 1602 again instead.
