Is it posible to set auto v-mem to 2.1?
Why dont you set the voltage manually to 2.1?

When i reset the bios, the volt is back to auto. When I overclock and have to reset bios, i have to change memory sticks to boot.

    Understand?

[strike]Yeah sounds like you're CPU limited.[/strike] I'll let someone else say what Vcore the Q6600 needs (or will take) but afaik that's the only option for more clockage. How much risk you will accept and whether the result is fast enough - both those are up to you.

Maybe the previous owner overvolted and degraded the chip... Or maybe it's an A0 stepping?

Edit:Now that I re-read this, I don't think you've proven that you're CPU-limited. I first read your new FSB as 450, not 350. 350 is only 16 more than your max with full CPU.

Try testing the thing again with only two sticks, then maybe each stick alone.

hallo i've got such problem my Ram is not in p5q-e QVL so thay ar not working well on my p5q-e this is 1200 mhz rams and i think this is the problem thay ar on D9GMH micron chips, i've tried all combinations but system is not stable when overclocking in stock it's working good on 1066 mhz but not overclocking well and i think this is memory suport problem because thay are PC9600 so i would like to ask to integreate in next bonus suport for 1200mhz ram especialy transcend axeram 1200+

not yet for E and Dlx series... only for vanilla P5Q and the Pro version
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

    Don't know what to think...
While its very possible this is a BIOS bug (hence the release of BIOS 1501) it may have something to do with the second part of the memory table, which I am unable to change with the tools I have.

The difference, while very small as far as overall system performance is concerned, it is still nearly as much as moving to the next higher memory ratio, or ten MHz on the FSB.
... and as we all know, 10MHz FSB it really rather useless with 99% of wolfies being able to handle 550MHz FSB+ :p

Fine tuning is all but impossible now.

Question # 2; Would it also be possible to split the CPU GTL's up, ie; 0/2 and 1/3 to 0/1/2/3 ? If so, how much time do you think would be involved in modifying these values?

Thank you for your time and Great bios's.

Reverse engineering a BIOS would be an absolute nightmare (but still the most easy way). I've been considering reverse engineering a P5Q Premium BIOS to work with all higher end P5Q series boards, but again such work would take a long time, and there would likely be nightmare scenarios to overcome.

    ED - 1501 mBIOSes ready.

    P5Q mBIOS 1501
    P5Q Pro 1501m

Let me know how these mBIOSes perform, unlike other mBIOSes I've done I have not had the chance to test out the vanilla 1501.

Not without some reverse engineering. The -E uses different ICs for some stuff. Do you still have that modded BIOS for the Biostar? I recently suffered catastrophic HDD failure thanks to a virus.

    Try ket's 704m BIOS. I can drive my PL lower with that BIOS than any other on my P5Q-E + Q9450. If I don't need the power of 3.6+ghz I run at 2.64ghz = 8x 330 fsb (3 below stock), DDR2-792 (333mhz strap), 4-4-4-10, PL5. Mushkin Ascent DDR2-1066.

Yep 703\704m are very sweet BIOSes, and IMO the least bugged. Fan speeds still work as they should when enabling Q-Fan (al later BIOS versions its broken, fan speed stays the same nomatter what Q-Fan profile you choose) and most importantly, no CPU M-E! As for the PL, my system with 1200MHz+ mem frequency will boot with a PL of 6 Oh yeah and if you can email me that modded TPower BIOS I'll start having another look at things with it, got a little free time to spare on it atm.

Nope, only the P5Q and P5Q Pro have a 1501 BIOS so far, I guess asus realised the "lower" highend boards are actually better than the supposed higher class P5Q series boards Like anything, the more complex something is made the higher the failure rate, and from what I've seen theres been A LOT of -E and Deluxe RMAs but RMAs fro the non Pros, Pros and Premiums RMAs are practically unheard of.

, most users that tend to buy the high end ones to OC it, most users that buy the low end boards run mostly stock... really got me puzzled with your claim(s) Ket...

You got real numbers to back up your claim of the high failure rate ? till now zero dead Pro's, E or Dlx's in my fav shop...

Thank you anyway, Ket! I'll wait for new BIOS releases (or the day I'll buy new memories!), in the meantime I'm just using 3 slots, better than nothing.
