    Temps

    Max temps are now :- CPU 59, N/B 41, S/B 53 . (Quoted running HyperPi on 4 cores)

The fans on my radiator are running at 9.5v so slightly below max rpm for kinder sound levels. Core 1 (counting 0-3) runs about 10 degrees lower than the others which is odd - anyone alse have this ?.

Running an Enzotech CNB-S1L on the S/B and just wondering what temps people are getting with the version with the fan the SLF-1 ?. Drilled holes in the motherboard tray to make this an easy swap if it runs a few degrees cooler.

Unhappy Aid please! Because it is not steady mine overclock?

Greetings, I have a new PC and I need help to get my overclock more stable!
I’ve run Prime95 for an hour and a half several times and everything is ok.
I’ve run OCTT many times and also 3Dmark and apparently all ok.
So, apparently it looks like I have a stable overclock but I don’t… because sometimes I restart my PC and when Windows begins to open it shows a blue screen and it restarts again. And sometimes when I’m working with windows, like, installing some program suddenly the screen turns blue again and restarts the pC.

I’m going to leave here the frame of my PC components and the bios settings of my PC:

Looks like I'm going to bid farewell to this board, after all.

Never could get the hang of 2x2GB RAM on this.

P6T Deluxe or GA-EX58-UD5 look like they are going to be the next board.

500mhz is a bit of a stretch don't you think? I can't help you either since I can only manage 480x 8.5 stable max with 7,7,6,18 but am happy with this for a gaming hound.

I was so frustrated this afternoon that I put my board and RAM up for sale and started looking for a DDR2 board

I've since taken them off the market... I figure I've got to give this board more of a chance and at least wait until I get proper cooling.

Well, I don't think it's too much of a stretch for a dual. It was doing ok at 498 100% stable, so that was pretty good. But I'm seeing very similar bandwidth/latency as I was getting with DDR2 and very similar FSB (maybe 10-20MHz more), so what's the benefit?

My thinking is, sell this board while it's still hot and someone who can really use it and do some benching on it with a 2x1 kit will probably enjoy it.

Now I'll be learning how to OC the new tech

0801 looks a lot more samsung friendly, 0601 was a nightmare for me, i skipped the next build and started testing with the 08 and its doing things 0601 just would not allow.

Its actually starting to feel like the P5E3 Premium now

Dude; have a look a few pages back at Eternal Fantasy's settings. I believe he is running a Quad with 4x1 ram. He got my 4x1 Cellshocks stable at 1800. I played with them a while after that but 1800 was it, I went back to 2x1 as it was too much fun. Might have another go later on with 4x1 but sorry, rather busy right now.

    Hope this helps,

well i have something a bit different

using 4x1gb Team Xtreem PC3-15000's with a e8600 so similar
problem is it hangs once in a while...
    well back to skewing again..

still find the best way after being confident on ure system is stable is to run crysis... for mem..

I run 2x1 Micron D9GTR and I run 0403 BIOS version, is it the one for getting the max out of those Micron or is it any other BIOS version that is better?

    Hi Ghostleader,

What part number are your dominators and what speed/timings can you achieve with 0403 ?.

I'm persevering with 0801 but finding that my previous settings do not work so it will take some time.

For those that do not like the pulsating ROG and start buttons these can be switched off in 0801 - Hurrah !!

Question What are compatible HSFs for the Rampage Extreme?

I, to my annoyance, found that the Noctua C12P HSF, despite the fact it's listed on their site as compatible, will NOT fit in the Rampage Extreme board. The brackets which are positioned top and bottom of the CPU, the top bracket hits the 1R0 devices and will not fit around them. The bracket does touch the gray block devices and I can fit the screws in the holes, but I'm frigthened to tighten them up incase I crush a motherboard component.

Just curous, what HSFs are people using with this board?

    Thanks.

    Hi aln688,

using U12P here - same brackets as yours? Just enough clearance on mine

Ah, you use your brackets the other way around, for pipe vertical usage. I'm trying to get pipe horiztonal usage. If I position my brackets the same as yours, it will fit and I can screw them in, but, the only recommended orientation for the HSF is the pipes at the bottom, which is fine, except one side of the HSF will hit my PSU.

The other orientation with the pipes at the top isn't recommended. If you still have yours out the case, and you don't have a CPU installed, try installing your bracket, carefully the other orientation, i.e. brackets top and bottom of the CPU, looking at the board as installed in a case, they won't fit.

It bloody annoys me as I spent the good part of a few hours removing the HPA on this board, repasting the NB and SB with Noctua NT-H1, carefully screwing everything together, now the damn heatsink won't fit. One direction the bracket won't screw in over the gray 1R0 devices, the other way the bracket fits but the HSF hits my PSU.

    Ugh.

To post images here, do I need my own hosting? I've taken a picture of the bracket but can't get the image uploaded.

Right, after signing up for Photobucket, here goes:

    ..and another one...

I think the solution is to buy the U12P heatsink, that way I could put the brackets the same as you and don't have to worry about the cooler overhanging the top of the board hitting my PSU.

It's annoying as Noctua lists the C12P as compatible with the Rampage Extreme, so I spent $70 to buy it and now find it won't install. Sure I can fit it with the pipes vertically but as I said, it overhangs and hits the PSU.

The Noctua NH-C12P actually fits perfect, not touching anything around it.
