Okey, now my board is ready for some action.

I use Enzotech heatsink for the mosfet and SB.

Koolance for the NB (Itīs very flexible, I have used it on several boards and it do the jobb very well).

D-Tek Fuzion for the CPU with Xigmatek Crossbow backplate.

    4x1gb and q9650 frequency performance?

    Hi,

does someone have information over the speed (DRAM Frequency and Strap ) of 4x1gb memory with a q9650 based on a RE board?

    Thanks

    regards

Ugh. I've spent the better part of the past two days playing with settings trying to get anything over 1200MHz to even get into Windows and I've had no luck whatsoever.

    Bios 0601

Totally stable at FSB 500 DDR3-1200

But lowering FSB, changing dividers, playing with skews...nothing gets me anything more.

I had the same bandwidth/latency with my Maximus Formula and DDR2

I see you say you've tried Expat Griz's settings, have you tried experimenting with these.

    NB DDRVref: +15mv
    DDR3 ChannelA Vref: +50mv
    DDR3 ChannelB Vref: +50mv

    Sounds a bit of nightmare.

Wow, sorry to hear that Jack!! What kind of volts are you pushing through the ram? Is it BSODing?? Post your settings so everybody can see where you are at. I'm bashing Crysis right now, everything on very high at these settings.

    Making some progress

Well, I've finally got somewhere. These settings passed one run through Memtest86+ and now I've bumped the FSB to 490 and will run HCI Memtest and see what happens. With 500FSB I get DETDRAM with these settings, so I probably need to tweak something as I get up towards higher bus speeds.

I was so frustrated this afternoon that I put my board and RAM up for sale and started looking for a DDR2 board

I've since taken them off the market... I figure I've got to give this board more of a chance and at least wait until I get proper cooling.

Far from world beating, but just messing around and experimenting with voltages. Trying for less is more with PLL VTT etc.

    Update

    Ok...this is strange.

I tested 495 FSB last night with the RAM at 1585 MHz (with the settings from my previous post) and it passed HCI 800%.

So this morning I tried to boot it up at 500 FSB and get DET DRAM.

However, 498 FSB boots. I have left it running HCI Memtest so we'll see how it goes. I also lowered CAS to 7. If I can't get the frequencies higher, I'll try tightening the timings.

Maybe I'll see what bios 0801 can do. 0701 was brutal...wouldn't save my settings and just constantly rebooted.

EDIT: 498 FSB with RAM at 1594MHz is chugging along with no errors

I'll try 499 when I get home and see what happens.

quite inefficient performance for the clocks, but still pleased with 3x13K anyway

Write and Copy scaling with FSB, but only just managed 13K+ Read/sub 40ns with 8-8-8-24 (5:8) and PL9. (vNB 1.7V / 0403 BIOS)

need some lower latency DIMMs really: 8-8-8-20 / 24 is the best I can get above 900mhz. CT is on AUTO, so losing there aswell. No clean Windows boot above 615fsb with any other CT so far.

Can anyone re-host the 0801 file? Apparently Kensek has exceeded his bandwidth for the day

Nice work there Cheapseats! This board definitely does the business with 2x1GB kits.

    There is No bandwidth limitation.

    I apologize, didn't know.

    I just checked it out.

I host 50 different Asus Bioses so maybe the new S2E and R2E and RE ones are being downloaded in mass quantities.

Yes indeed 81 downloads of RE and 18 of the S2E today

It would cost $249.99/yr to upgrade to unlimited downloads from my BIOS repository.

    Screw that!!!

Well, I started up my rig with 2x1 Corsair Dominator PC-14400 (XMP) and it booted up just fine and I was surprised when I noticed that it started with the XMP profile instead of the usually 1333 9-9-9. Everything was on auto.

Did install some applications and games and played some with that setting and it was stabil as a rock.

Now itīs time to find a good 24/7 gamer setup, I will be back for more.

This is the Cache & Memory Benckmark on auto (the tRD was 6 according to Memset)

Have you been able to run FSB 500 and 2000+ and 8-8-8 tRD7 with them?

I tried 0801 and got no changes or further luck using my previous settings. Still capped stable at 498 FSB but won't post at 500

I think this board needs more patience than I've got.

I tried it and my best settings would not even complete one loop in HyperPi so flashed back to 0501 as there is too much time involved finding the one or more setting to correct it. I would probably recommend only flashing to 0801 if it fixes an issue you have - difficult without a changelog - or if you are getting the board new and do not have any previous working settings.

    Help!

    Hi all,
seem to have run into a small but anoying issue.

I only have a usb mouse and a usb keyboard plugged into the mobo at the moment yet when the system boots and comes up with the usb scanning, it now reports 2 keybords and 1 mouse?
Has anyone else had this? any ideas on what might be causing this?
