i was able to bench up to 1030/1330 but since only @ stock cooling held back @ 1000/1300

if youre so badarse dont trip over my 1ghz/1.3ghz+ clocks.. show me/everyone here your 1200mhz and make it on air while your at it

some of you just know how to take the fun out of ocing.. but dont worry i feed off of you greatly

the 3850 wont go past 762 on the core

That would be because of the stock bios bug that won't allow higher OC then 770mhz I believe.

I just have my 3850 256mb a few days. Fun card to play with. I did a small voltbump by modding the bios and can bench @ 890/999.

Sorry! I expressed wrong (due my bad English! ) and You misunderstood my point. I DO NOT say Your result is "crap" in any way. I just wanted to see 3D action also 1000+@stock cooling is absolutely great result and I highly respect Your work since! Please ignore my last post, I feel terribly sorry for that

I would love to see Your cap mods pictures also
I bought some electrolytic caps myself and hope to squeeze some more MHz...

ive capped the front the same way but got diminishing clocks on air.. probably works better on water.. will try the back capping

I'm working in Vref mod atm. Hope to get cold-bug under... My previous 3870 did 1170@1,84V@-4C ambient but this one I own now can't do over 1080@air. I used LN2 but no result because of -10C CB (1120MHz max...)

How do You guys know what caps to use? I don't see any markings on the little ceramic ones...

nice results but i think my 3850 is dieing or dead. i was surfing the web and the screen artifacted then went away . then did it again and my screen went black and my monitor didnt go into standy by mode

ive capped the back of the card just like Riskas 8x mem caps



easily passed 1.4ghz.. wish i could take it higher thru ccc.. 1500 limit would be nice

i tried that and increased to 1500 but ccc doesnt recognize the card anymore..

as for pics.. no different than Riskas

riska used 10v 470uf rubycon

i used 6.3v 470uf rubycon

you might want to ask riska how.. as for me i just do it..

I just pencilmodded my new Sapphire HD3850 256mb using the HD4850 pencilmod.
The newer cards, or at least a few I've seen have the uP6201BQ chip.



2 light pencil strokes and I've gone from 1.37 to 1.42v. Only 931mhz on water? RV670 cards suck compared to R600 lol!

hi guys! i have a pretty good club3d HD3850, with very good aircooling on it. i'd like to flash a new bios overclocked to 800/1000 but i am really scared since its my first time and i dont wanna fry the card. I'm almost sure that the modified bios is good but who knows, better asking .



will these setting work well? thanks guys!
