Looks like you are doing fine so far.

Its not so free to run like the P35 but the power is in there it just takes time & tweaking to squeeze it out.

tried 4 types of ram, another psu, still ng. anybody else have a 45nm quad on this board?
I cant believe it wont even run at stock there must be something very wrong there. My guess would be GTL's & VTT but you're the one in the driving seat the Guinea pig even I hope you work it out as it's a quad I will ultimately be running in this board.

I wont have time to try 1028 properly for a couple of days & I have to work all weekend too so maybe it'll be next week before I get round to pushing 1028 hard enough to tell you if I can find any benefits.

You can check my thread out at forumdeluxx.de

there are some people who tested the UT P45 with 45nm Quads, but for those 2-3 people it's a) their first DFI ever and b) the first DFI since the Ultra-D. Theye are overwhelmed with the tons of settings with this board and the open GTL structure.
Well, I have to get this mainboard, otherwise we won't have any good results :P

@namegt: where you have find that beta 1028? Can't find it on dfi site
    It's secure? stable?

I've some trouble to stabilize e0 >550fsb (cpu gtl set to minimum) even if I can boot at 600, but really not stable.
Try this evening on a little e8200 c0

i am having real problems running a q9550 e0 on this board. have narrowed it down to the mb, as the quad runs fine on my other 2 boards. also, my e8500 e0 runs fine on the dfi p45. so i dont know whats going on with it right now. i put about 8 hours into swapping things in and out and it still randomly warm restarts or bsod at default everything. i have been running dfi boards since nf2 infinity, and have only run dfi and biostar since the ultra-d. (present msi in secondary rig is a fill-in)

does anybody out there have a 45nm quad that they can drop in this board? not that it makes much difference, but i would like to know if its my board or all/most/many/some of them.

Did you make a CMOS + RTC Clear after putting a new CPU in it (after the E8500 I assume)?

DFI 1028 BIOS is not on your site.
I went to Google search through the 1028 BIOS.
The stability can not be held responsible for the 1028 BIOS.

i did a cmos clear. many times, in fact. why would i have to reset the real time clock for a new cpu? i am kind of floored that i cant just drop in a q9550 and run it at default. one of the above guys mentioned gtl's and vtt but nothing, with the possible exception of vdimm should have to be changed to run a cpu a stock speed. i didnt have to adjust anything on my 750i board to run the q9550. hated to do it, but i ordered an asus (my first asus in about 5 years) p5q deluxe last night to cover while i rma this dfi. and if the asus runs and oc's well, i might just get a refund on the dfi. out of the 4 dfi boards i have bought this year, 2 of them had to be rma'd within days. they were not doa, but this board and the lp dk x48 i had would not run stable for more than a few minutes. the lp ut p35 was great (was hoping this board would be its successor) and the lp dk p45 was ok, tho. but since the nf2 infinity, i had never had to rma a dfi board until this year.

you win some you loose some, i had to send my dfi p35 ut back for rma, it itself after about 8months and took out a set of ram and 2 raptors with it, i've always had dfi boards and will continue to even tho their RMA service take way too long.

yes me too. i put the e8500 e0 back in, and it was fine. removed it, cleared all 3 jumpers (cmos, rtc and "cant boot") and the easy clear (press power and reset microswitches for 4 seconds.) then re-installed the q9550. still ng. if i really pile on voltage to everything, it will remain up at stock settings for a while. but then i will click a link or something and boom, warm restart. but with all default except vdimm (2.00v), wont even post most of the time. or die on forst post screen.
