MF1201 -> RF0410 (newest from ASUS webbie) (with the ES2.2xES utility)

So if anyone's wondering why his/her flash isn't working, you might want to try the older utility.

PS: I'm using the Maximus Formula x38 Special Edition rev. 1.02g if it matters.

I'll post some stability stuff later.

ASUS Rampage Formula x38 Special Edition
    Intel E8400 C0 (Scythe Infinity 1x 120, 1x 80 push, 1x 80 pull)
    4x1 GB OCZ FlexXLC 800MHz CL3
    High-end Air cooling (5x 80mm fans)

    CPU: 9*475 = 4.30GHz
    RAM: CL5-5-5-15-auto's
Boots: BSOD @ Windows Vista x64 load

    CPU: 9*465 = 4.20GHz
    RAM: 931MHz CL5
    Boots: Windows Vista x64
Prime / OCCT: Unstable (near-instant crash)

    CPU: 9*450 = 4.06GHz
    RAM: 900MHz CL5
    Boots: Windows Vista x64
Prime / OCCT: Unstable (Prime: 1st Thread near-instant, OCCT after 10 secs)

I need some help here >.>

    Settings:

    Ai OC Tuner: Manual
    OC From CPU: Auto
    CPU Ratio: 9.0x
    FSB Strap: 400
FSB: 450 (at best around 9*500, but I don't think a C0 can do that on high-end air cooling)
    PCIE: 110

DRAM: 900+ (FSB500 does 1000MHz is possible stable max pretty sure)
    CommandR: 2N
    CLK Skew A: Auto
    CLK Skew B: Auto
    DRam Timing: Man
    5-5-5-15 rest Auto

    DRAM Static Read: Disabled
    Ai Clock TwisteR: Auto
    Ai Trans. Booster: Auto

    CPU Volt: 1.45
    CPU PPL: 1.54
    NBv: 1.61
    DRAM: 2.30 (+1.0 Overvolt afaik, 2.4v = rated)
    FSB Term: 1.54
    SB: 1.050
    SB1.5: 1.50
    Loadline: Enabled
    CPU GTL: 0.63x
    NB GTL: 0.67x
    DRAM Contr: DDR2_REF
    DRAM Ch A/B: Auto

    Spread spectra: Disabled

Only report I get from OCCT is the CPU Temp going up to near 60 degrees in no time, they seem to remain steady around that temperature though (not sure).

Update: 9*400 (everything on Auto) results in max 46 degrees and even then it's unstable.. OCCT Crashed Code 1

    Setup defauls = stable

    Any help is much appreciated.

Made batch command files for easier crossflashing if anyone's interested, just load onto your flashstick and type Max2Ramp or Ramp2Max as you wish. Latest 1207 and 0410 included.

I just did the Max2Ramp without issues, have not tried the Ramp2Max flashback though so YMMV.

Man, been awhile since I posted in here. I got myself an E8600 and a Tpower I45 board. Put everything together and went to OC. Long story short, I have put this board back in and am clocking the 8600 on it. That Tpower may be good for extreme FSB speeds, but man it is a real whore to get working correctly. Once you have the feature set of an ASUS BIOS, you want nothing else. My board is modded to a Rampage on BIOS 0410 and it just loves this 45nm chip. I am still trying to find the max clock I can reach on water right now, but needless to say the performance has been wonderful. Lesson learned here: You get what you pay for.

i was close to getting one of those too.. i held out after looking at the bios and reading others issues with it.. i am kind of used to this maximus bios. the rampage bios was pretty sweet on it but started to go haywire after a week. it was doing all kinds of funky things with my usb, it would work and it wouldn't. it was also upping my volts to crazy high volts after i would set them where i wanted them.. so i switched back to the maximus bios and havn't had to many problems with it. these asus bios options once you figure them out are pretty friendly. i came from a socket A board so everything was new to me and it took a while. i don't think i would want anything different now after getting used to it.

Your gonna need more vCore on that C1 chip.
E0's will clock high with low volts but not C1's try around 1.35v

That helped, thanks. Now occt still wont test because it says, cpu to hot. Its lower 40's so idk why thats to hot.

in OCCT config click the monitoring tab and raise the cpu temp limit

Neither of your two setups managed to boot.

I need a higher NB volt to start with.

But for some reason OCCT and Prime (same code) drop 1 thread within 15 seconds of testing and the other one stops as a result of that (Code 1 / 4).

I'm running 3.6GHz atm which seems stable. And 4 seems stable too, but OCCT says differnet.

Win Vista x64 isn't a problem, when testing OCs?

Oh, I said it a few times before, but forgot to add it to the last post:

ASUS Maximus Formula Special Edition @ Rampage Formula 1410 (same results for both chipsets, got the feeling Rampage does a bit more, though)
Intel E8400 C0 (not sure about batch, sorry)
    4x1 GB OCZ FlexXLC PC2-6400 CL3. POST + Boot @ 1066MHz
    Windows Vista x64 SP1

    Thanks for reading
