A M$ Windows Update foiled attempt this week
My harddrive started thrashing about, reading and writing hundreds of files evertime I booted up, plus network card work would keep disconnecting
Spent the last couple days trying fix it

Did find some stuff I need to improve because this
2 gigs of ram is not enough for Vista, I was wondering why my load times took so long

Ben_Brown got me curious about my power consumption, I got brave and put my power meter on.
    Idle was 530W for Trifire
Peak was 803W and that was 3465MHz

If work is slow I hope to replace some the heatpipe cooling crap

It will take a couple of weeks to fix things up

You have a chance to get there first
    Good luck

Man that is alot of idle wattage. I guess I need to get me a Kill-A-Watt to verify all of my power suspicions.

    Thank you
For a lower midd range video card the one thing 3850s do very good is run as a team in crossfire . They got just enought pop to get some FPS but they don't over power the cpu so when you team them up in crossfire they can run every good .Once i up grade my cpu and hit the 3.4 to 3.5 ghz range i think the 3850s can go into the 18,000 range out at 3dmark-06 . Hell with a cpu 3.5 they mite hit 19,000 .

That would make me sad if you break 19,000 with 3850's and I can't do it with 3870's.

I have given up on the 3870's though and I am trying to sell them and go with either quad 4850s or 2x 4870x2. Not sure which would be more fun.
