I got an aftermarket cooler on my NB with a fan. I tried a MCW30 but the bend from CPU to NB was causing the MCW30 to tweak to the side no matter how I tried to route the tubing so I took it off. I just need to figure out my vcore issue so I can tweak it in a little more.

At those voltages it cannot pass 505 FSB, What should I change for higher FSB ?
how about doing a 32M SuperPI and splash that results.

Well i tried another videocard out of another machine that i know works, and still no signal on monitor. Im assuming DOA Mobo? Every other component worked on my ip35 pro so im assuming i should return this board?

Have you tried another CPU? If you cannot get it to post, I would say yes it should be returned.

have you checked 1 black and 8 red jumpers are set for 16X speed for the first video slot (16x PCIe) where your video card is plugged in?

Regarding my issue with an "E1" error post code have tried everything possible including reflashing 710 bios with afudos in DOS, no way, tried to set manualy default specs of ballistix with a corsair kit, no go also, have to order new memos That kind of memos incompatibilities really sucks in a mobo like that, saying about the no customer suport from biostar, should be have at least a beta bios that correct at least these incompatibilities. Will try a 2x2GB OCZ kit now.

By the way anyone can tell me where to find the RAID drivers to load at vista instalation? Try the cd drivers but its saying its no compatible, to search from another ones Who have to install it at vista install could tell me wath the correct way/drivers or a link to it? Tya

I didnt even install the drivers in vista, I just loaded raid in bios and started up. never had a slight problem at all.

EDIT: as far as the biostar bios support, they are a joke, this will be my last biostar board I ever purchase they are making no effort at all to mature the bios. just wait KET is working on it my friend.

all of the red jumpbers are set on the top of each row, and i just returned the board and got a new one and still same problem. Would a cpu cause this? My current quad core was sitting in my ip35 pro for 3 months or so and i had di electric grease in the socket could this have hurt it?

tpower is ok for quads but alot better for duals, still I've seen 500fsb on quads, keep tweaking.

Well, got the board OB from Newegg for $105...GREAT deal; came with everything and works perfectly. It came with the old BIOS (6/23 IIRC), so I flashed it via DOS while bench testing to make sure it wasn't DOA. This thing is a blast to OC. Coming from an IP35-E is like night and day. More settings than you can shake a stick at. Anyway, I did a little build thread over here if anyone wants to see lots of pictures (roundabout 56k warning). Folding @ 4GHz 24/7 for now until I get a chance to play with it. Here's a SS for your viewing pleasure:

So, if i can see the raid drivers on vista install is just that? I set two raid arrays with 2 250GB HDD a slice with 80Gb for OS and another with the rest to install stuffs like games, no important data so i set both as RAID0 arrays, then in vista install i can see both there ready to install, but in my mind i thought that i must have to load the (F6 like windos XP) drivers. Is that simple? Just continue to the os install and then install the intel raid software??

[EDIT] As i no longer will use my crucial ballistix (non tracer) because the incompatibility, i bought a 2x2GB Corsair Dominator 1066, in witch slot color are you using the memos? Witch are the best ones to use?

SB historically does not need a lot of volts to function even at high overclocks.

nice going!...are you using phase cooling?

yes for the 5.5ghz i was on phase.... not a very good phase.... it is a quite old chilly1 unit....

btw the reason i asked about the nb cooling is the nb sink is actually VERY HOT

    i was at 1.6+v vcore approx 1.65

    1.25v fsb

    1.45 nb

    2.4v dram

not to mention my cooler harbor fan had to be removed because the phase mount doesnt fit with the fan installed...
This is my signature, there are many like it but this one is mine..

but i was wondering what the hole spaing was for a nb cooler??

also if there is a cooler available for the vregs, as my nb gets very hot

Yeah, this mobo takes a shade more Vfsb and Vnb than I like but hey, it's working with my X3330.

Hey i'm pretty new to these forums but you guys have a great section on the Biostar I45.. I just got mine back from RMA from Biostar. My newegg order was DOA.. ANYWAYS, my pci express slot is running at 8x instead of 16x. I have checked all the jumpers to make sure that it was'nt set in crossfire mode.. Even the little JPE9 jumper.

Everything is setup right but GPU-Z and CPU-Z both show i'm running in 8x out of the possible 16x.. Can anyone help?

i would think you are in the 2-3 position for the 8 red and one black jumper...that puts it into the crossfire position...recheck those jumpers.
