I don't beleive that you will see that this time around.
There will be single socket Nehalems(Bloomfield) and dual socket Nehalems(Gainstown) but I also hear that called Beckton so still a little confusion, at least to me.

About the same time. Also 2P.

Single socket is X58+Bloomfield in a serveroriented board.

That 4ghz overclock @VCore ~1.34v (last page) looks like an incredible improvement, didn't all the old steppings need at least 1.4x-1.5xv for such clocks? That's what I've seen in the many leaked reviews. The ~5ghz dice result also looks promising.

What RAM are you using? What MB? ... thanks!

    RealTemp 2.83

I updated RealTemp last night so it reads TjMax from the new Core i7 processors.

    http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/3/...alTempBeta.zip

TjMax is located in MSR 0x1A2 which software can read. When all temp programs get updated there shouldn't be any arguing any more.

We'll have to wait and see what's hiding in that MSR. The first one I saw was set to TjMax=100C from Intel based on reading that MSR.

What about the cheapest part, the 940 ? I want to see that go around 4Ghz. That will be truly something. Those extreme parts are always good clockers since they are top of the line. Gimme the value clocker baby !
