Watercooling: D-Tek FuZion V2, DDC Ultra Plexi top, PA120.3, MCW60, Ek's Res.
I would like to know this aswell. But IIRC Nehalen has temp monitor hardware INSIDE the chip, so it may very well report higher temps than what we are used to. Maybe not coz its hot in comparison with current chips, but coz it monitors the ACTUAL core temps.
This is just an educated guess based on info about the temp sensor, so it would be great to know more about it from Drwho![]()
hmm I'd be more interested to know retail oc results since the chips they sent to NDA people are most likely hand picked for good results..

Bloomfields are really hot. Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme is not weak air cooler and the temperatures are high even without overclocking. But I'm not sure about the correctness of RealTemp/CoreTemp numbers....

Btw, we've just improved our record with i920 and air cooling: http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=440058
Core i7 920 @ 4168 MHz(thx to Intel Turbo tech., of course)
So, all the records http://en.ripping.org/database.php?cpuid=873 are right now in hands of editors of ExtraHardware.cz. I'm looking forward for first tries with LN2. We'll publish more info (BIOS and cooling photos for example) on Monday (after NDA will lift up).

Turbo mode unlocks the multi ?
Thanks ufon , can I assume the difference is even greater at higher clocks ?

It raise the Multi plus 2 ?????
It raises the multi plus 2, it can be set manually without throtling the other cores or anything that the AUTO function would do. You can simply raise it by 2![]()
On all of my 5 boards is multi with Turbo mode on i920 only 21, 22 multi screen must be FAKE
So it is a fake Multi 22 ???? I only have 21 !! He is also registered WR holder in www.ripping.org then this is also a fake ?
No, it is not fake, turbo mode will take the CPU up to 22 if you are in single threaded mode, it will go back down if you use more than 1 core.
2 Bin turbo up if single threaded, 1 bin turbo up if multithreaded, of course, it is only if you do not product more thermal power than what is set as TDP.

DrWho, The last of the time lords, setting up the Clock.
So if you have one single threaded benchmark you can always count on the +2 turbo, and a multi threaded benchmark will fall back on +1. Might be handy in a few cases to force the affinity on one core if it's multi threaded but both threads don't place more then 50% load on a core? Not sure, can't know now can I
Makes some sence, some benchmarks benefit from mhz but don't load a core fully.
5 to 10% OC is not that much is it ?...my 286 was going from 10 to 12 mhz with turbo mode
would 20% be too much technically due to modifying other parameters in bios?
btw would it make sense to deactivate HT and remain quad thread to lower voltage / wattage need of the platform or would it be marginal ?
