Thanks I see the mounting holes are standard ATX, but what dimensions is the board? Is it closer to E-ATX?

yeh, in the same way RE was overpriced....but kicked the sh1t out of everything else
imo the lack of pushpins alone is worth the money =]
i'm just looking at all these X58 boards and wondering how the hell i'm going to insulate them, and this is no exception.

    Msrp: $439

I remember the good old days, way back in 2006 when a high end mobo only ran about $200.

The X58 heatsink will block the installation of sound cards like the pcie XFi Titanium, but it looks like a trivial mod to fix that. Also, the finned heatsink is only attached to the main heatpipe assembly with 2 screws, so it can be easily removed and replaced with something else if desired.

You can put a creative X-Fi in the lowest x16 port.

    It fits and works.

Anyway i'm hoping to get my hands on this board very soon!

Don't forget that Swiftech have the block to fit the Maximus II Formula which use the same concept. It's a work between Asus and Swiftech so I assume it will also work on the R2E (just unscrew the finned part and screw the waterblock).

This is a motherboard I'm drooling the most of all but it's too bad I'm a bit strapped for cash right now.

for some reason, and i can't exactly figure out why, this board seems a lot less attractive than RE.

Had the chance to buy a RIIE here in UK for a few days now, but put off by RE original's RAM compatibility. Or lack of.

Eyeing on EVGA's X58 solution now, seems like a solid board with great BIOS support reading Anand's, or maybe the Blood Rage depending on avalibility.

My 965 is sitting on the floor looking for a home
