Very niceIf you dont have grease in socket dont let evap on for too long (as in weeks).
I guess you only need to use into socket and under cpu...
Around socket you have eraser wayand neoprene insulation too
So you don`t need the grease around....
By the way... i`m planing to use phase only for benchs no more than 5 hours per session, and ìm thinking to use eraser way and a layer of armaflex above eraser.... Of course i`ll use grease into socket and contact face of cpu..... I have a very hot benching room... what do you think. must i take other cautions?

When I insulate the socket for dry ice benching. Should I a) cut out some neoprene and put it in the open space of the socket or b) not worry about it - simply mask over the metal socket and lay on the eraser onto it
Thanks,

Both should do. Sometimes i use some neoprene in socket to fill "open" spaces so there's less air but its not necessary at all.
Ok sweet. Thanks for you help loc.o![]()
@serenity
I even filled the little gaps of the socket and "cpu-holddown" with eraser. (I hope you understand what I mean.)
It came off really easy. But you also can stuff some neopren/armaflex in those gaps.
Hey Guys,
After my first couple of runs with a Phase Change and the rubber insulation I have some questions:
- I left the Phase Change Unit on for 16hrs and this morning I decided to check the mounts I noticed that the lapped surface was touching not only the cpu but the eraser surrounding it as well - is this ok?
- I also noticed a drop of water coming down the neoprene material surrounding the cpu socket - is this a sign of a bad insulation?
Thanks!
EDIT:
A pic may help, this re mark represents where the water was after I shut the unit down and disassembled the unit after a 16hrs run:
Is there a regular waiting period before you can really unscrew the phase change from the socket?
what chip is that on!?!? how big is the evap for the ocz!?!?
mentally confused and prone to wandering
Jor3lNR I like the mosfet block on that board good choice in fittings mosfet blocks are the shiz in my opinion
Just tested this weekend, blutack works perfectly!
No condension water and comes off easily![]()

it worked great for me dinos. you will just have to put something to on top of the bluetac insulation layer to absorb the condensation, for me it sweated alot the first time i tested that method.
yep perfectlythat stuff is little bit tougher to get off than the kneeted rubber but still very officiant in keeping the nasty condensation away from your precious board with some help of dishcloth or something similar to keep the bluetac from sweating witch it does to some extend (at least with me )
